On behalf of D-12 Community, we sincerely thank Chairman CDA sir @SohailAshrafGor for todayโs productive meeting, immediate directions on key D-12 issues, and his commitment to transform D-12 into a Model Sector of Isb Hopeful for positive progress ahead. ๐

Serious question: Is this a temporary fix or are we supposed to believe this is the long-term solution?
Because if it's patchwork before monsoon season, here's what every road engineer knows:
Patch repairs done before heavy rains fail within weeks. Water seeps into loose edges, erodes the base layer, and the patch breaks apart faster than the original pothole.
Pre-monsoon patchwork without proper base preparation is literally throwing taxpayer money into puddles. Studies across South Asia confirm that roads patched without milling and proper compaction deteriorate 3x faster during monsoon.
The correct approach is full-depth carpeting with proper drainage. Anything less before July is a photo-op, not a repair.
So @CDAthecapital, which one is this?
Can i please ask CDA for the D-12 road maintenance budget vs actual spend for last 5 years and why we no one gets penalized for 20 years of neglect - We don't need another patch. We need accountability.

Among other issues like missing street lights and footpaths, SR West in D-12 is in a dilapidated state.
As you can see in the video, the potholes aren't a mystery. 22-wheeler lorries pass through a residential sector daily, without any restriction, without any check.
This has been raised multiple times. No response. No action.
Simple question: What is the thought process behind allowing heavy commercial vehicles inside a residential sector? Who approved this? What weight limits exist, and who enforces them?
We pay taxes. We deserve functioning roads. Not patch jobs that collapse in weeks because the root cause is never addressed.
Fix the roads. Ban heavy lorries from residential sectors. Or at least explain why you won't.
@@SohailAshrafGor@CDAthecapital@dranamfatima One garbage trolley for an entire D-12 sub-sector is insufficient. Overflowing garbage is causing foul smell, unhygienic conditions & health risks.Request CDA to increase capacity to 3โ4 trolleys per sub-sector with timely collection
@C_Hendrick It surprises me that many believe that AI will somehow provide a magic pill whereas the real issue is focusing on short term outcomes and in doing so ignoring what leads to actual learning that can be used and built on
@george__mack Based on my understanding of how we learn and apply what we learn, these skills can't be taught but rather are an outcome of what we know, it being well organised and practiced.
@KateJones_teach It seems that to effectively counter the forgetting curve, retrieval needs to be both timed and personalised. This level of precision is only possible with technology that uses a spaced retrieval algorithm to track each learners progress and deliver questions at the right moment
We've created a free SCIENCE app called Memory Magic to help students improve memory retention with daily quizzes & spaced repetition. Perfect 4 keeping knowledge fresh during the holidays! Teachers, help us spread the word! #chatbiology#chatchemistry#chatphysics#CogSciSc
@missdcox@C_Hendrick@dylanwiliam@effortfuleduktr@EfratFurst@BradleyKBusch things can be remembered and quickly (and effortlessly) applied to solve problems / makes sense of other things. I would say if this is the goal of revision then spaced retrieval and practicing applying knowledge in different contexts would be the strategies.
@missdcox@C_Hendrick@dylanwiliam@effortfuleduktr@EfratFurst@BradleyKBusch What you are saying is that there are strategies that help introduce new material in the most effective way leading to some change in LTM (e.g. to regulate attention, leverage curiosity, ensure meaning based processing etc.) and then there are strategies to help ensure
@C_Hendrick@dylanwiliam Could it be that how material is processed at the time of first learning, regular spaced retrieval and application (e.g. attempting exam questions) all play a part eventually developing the subject specific problem solving skills we want kids to develop?
@Emma_Turner75 As a parent I hope the word ability is not used to quantify their ability to learn but rather their ability to perform based on what they know.
@aniqapirzada That's an interesting idea. I have been involved in a project to enable teachers to (properly) incorporate spaced retrieval in their teaching. The aim is to ensure both high storage and retrieval strength of learnt material. Would love to tell you more about it.
@MrLandesman@MJMA_Ed I am not a teacher but a parent who noticed that while moving through the years my kids didn't understand or retained what they were being taught. I started reading about the science of learning and (unfortunately) I definitely know a lot more about it then a lot of teachers
