WATCHED #Cocktail2 and it’s a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT 👎🏻 The biggest problem with the film is that it feels like it is designed to project #KritiSanon as a SUPERSTAR which she is not ! The entire narrative revolves around giving her larger-than-life moments, but the writing never justifies them. Instead of feeling ORGANIC, everything comes across as FORCED and ARTIFICAL just like its Box-office numbers 😳 The 1st half is still DECENT and has a few entertaining moments because here I liked the CINEMATOGRAPHY and some scenes are GENUINELY WELL DONE. However 2nd half completely RUINS the film with no Proper Setup, no EMOTIONAL payoff and events keep happening randomly without any impact !! And then the CLIMAX is filled with weak logic and OVERDRAMATIC monologue that feels IRRITATED😞 #ShahidKapoor is the biggest LOSER here. He gets one of the POOREST WRITTEN ROLES of his career and hardly gets any opportunity to showcase his ACTING RANGE ! Throughout the film, it feels like he’s only there to support Kriti’s character and make the story revolve around her which is Weird !! While #KritiSanon looks stunning and delivers a sincere performance, but the EMOTIONAL DEPTH required to make the character memorable is simply missing as the writing is WEAK. #RashmikaMandanna is completely WASTED with very little to do, and her dialogue delivery in HINDI needs to be IMPROVED, please 🙏🏻 What made the original COCKTAIL special was the emotional connection with its characters, #DeepikaPadukone 's AURA and SONGS but here you don’t feel invested in anyone as it lacs that core, that character arcs which stays with you after film ends!! OVERALL, #Cocktail2 is an ABSOLUTELY BELOW-AVERAGE FILM that isn’t even worth a one-time watch ! If you are planning to watch any FILM this weekend then go and watch #MainVaapasAaunga 🔥✅

Box-Office update - 1) Driven by self bookings, #Cocktail2 managed Rs 12 crore net on Day 1. ORGANIC collections are around 25-30% less as #MaddockFilms indulged in feeding to inflate the collections. Word-of-Mouth is decent among city youth but mass centres are dull. Collections will HOLD only in 6 big cities after the 1st weekend. 2) Imtiaz Ali's #MainVaapasAaunga collected Rs 2 crore net on DAY 8. This is higher than DAY 1 numbers of the movie. The 2nd week collections of the movie will be MORE than the 1st week. It's a RARE feat for a movie these days. It stands at approx Rs 14 crore net as of now. 3) After a surprisingly good initial, #HauntedEchoesOfThePast is showing rapid decline. But due to the shoestring budget, the COST is already recovered. This #VikramBhatt film is a SUCCESS. 4) Varun Dhawan's #HaiJawaniTohIshqHonaHai has racked up Rs 58 crore net in 2 weeks. Lifetime business (India net) will be around Rs 62-63 crore net. #BoxOffice #ImtiazAli

Nust watched #MainVaapasAaunga 😢 What an emotional roller coaster ride it was! Even though it may not have been a box office success, this film is definitely worth watching. Imtiaz Ali has made such a beautiful film, and the actors have delivered such great performances.
