We echo Premier @ABDanielleSmith’s statement regarding the potential negative impacts a rail strike could pose for our communities and industries!

Last week, I wrote this letter calling on Prime Minister @JustinTrudeau to take seriously the looming rail strike action by CN and CP.
While we appreciate that the federal government has now referred this issue to the Canada Industrial Relations Board, they must ensure that there is a lasting solution to this dispute.
We share similar concerns as our neighbours in Saskatchewan when it comes to potential rail disruptions. Our province’s biggest industries rely on efficient and reliable rail service to get their goods to market!

If our natural resources and products fail to reach the market, we prevent local economies from thriving. It hurts essential industries, hardworking Albertans, and rural communities.
