Bunnies Camp 2024 Tokyo Dome's chapter in NewJeans' history book is now closed.
Day 2 was a blast. You can't say it was just the same as Day 1 because it wasn't. While we had a clear idea of what to expect, we were still blown away. We now know that Niniz's duet, "Hold it Down," is an unreleased original, and we have the proper title of Dani's self-composed masterpiece, "Butterflies (With U)," which Dani admitted was made with Bunnies in mind. On top of that, we got a hint about the existence of NJ1, NewJeans' rumored full album, which is supposed to be released around the latter part of this year.
For Day 2, outside their non-skip discography laid out shining and shimmering in the camp's set list, we had the amazing Rina Sawayama instead of YOASOBI, who ignited Day 1. She shared an incredible stage with Hyein, and it was wonderful. Hyein is a rockstar with vocals of liquid gold, and Rina complemented her so well as they shared the spotlight singing Rina's "Bad Friend."
Haerin electrified the entire multiverse again with her Heel Dance. Dani, once again, graciously let the world hear her masterpiece, "Butterflies (With U)." Minji took us to another emotional journey with her version of Vaundy's "踊り子." And Hanni cemented her reputation as the newest darling of an entire nation with Seiko Matsuda's "青い珊瑚礁." Oh, man... What a time to be a Bunny!
What struck me the most was how emotional Day 2 was for the girls and team ADOR. Watching them, you could tell how important this event was for them. We had no idea what was happening behind the cameras during their preparation. We don't know the weight they all bear with the uncertainties and adversities obstructing their way. They fought battles beyond the reach of our watchful eyes, and we all know the fight isn't even over.
The overwhelming success of Bunnies Camp Tokyo Dome is the fruit of everything they've worked on and gone through and a testament to their level of expertise and professionalism. I'm just so proud of our girls and so grateful to everyone who stood with them and supported them.
Bunnies Camp Tokyo Dome is a masterwork. It showed what a team that cares about their craft and their artists can achieve. From the CEO to the ground staff, everyone worked hard to make everything possible. It's a culmination of unwavering dedication and hard work by a very small team amidst a very dark time in their lives.
Bunnies Camp Tokyo Dome was two days of a world-class showcase of talent. It showed everyone what’s next for NewJeans, a group of individual artists shining and thriving in their own strengths, who come together so beautifully as a unit because of their bond as a family forged through sharing the joys of success and living their dreams, and the pains of overcoming challenges together.
Minji, Hanni, Dani, Haerin, and Hyein deserve all the love in the world. They are the same sweet, humble, and unassuming girls we first met in July 2022 but they have grown so much as artists and performers. I am so proud to be one of their Bunnies.
In conclusion, Bunnies Camp may be a fan meeting, but NewJeans has elevated fan meets to a different stratosphere. NewJeans' Bunnies Camp is a must-see. Wherever you are in the world, if you love the girls, start saving for next year because it wouldn't be surprising if they up it another notch.
