What content do your donors like to see? Ask them! Send out a survey and start naming segments based on issues your donors like to hear about.

Example: Then you can send to folks who are passionate about XYZ, and who have given over $250.

It's critical that you understand your donor base and whether or not your donor base/segment is increasing or decreasing and an incredible marker for measuring growth and success.
