China led going into the closing metres, & Shravani came from behind to pass China’s anchor just 0.10 seconds ahead.

I was holding my breath watching that final lap. It didn’t look even conceivable that she would be able to catch up.

But Shravan wasn’t willing to see finishing second to a powerhouse like China as inevitable & acceptable.

She didn’t see the yawning gap as an impossibility.

She was practising the art of the possible…

Giving up wasn’t acceptable.

​ପବନର ବିପରୀତ ଦିଗରେ ବାନା: ସାଧାରଣତଃ ପତାକା ପବନର ଦିଗରେ ଉଡ଼ିଥାଏ, ମାତ୍ର ନୀଳଚକ୍ରରେ ବନ୍ଧାଯାଉଥିବା ‘ପତିତପାବନ ବାନା’ ସଦାସର୍ବଦା ପବନ ବହିବାର ଠିକ୍ ବିପରୀତ ଦିଗରେ ଉଡ଼ିଥାଏ।

​ଛାୟାହୀନ ଗୁମ୍ବଜ: ଦିନର କୌଣସି ବି ସମୟରେ, ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟ ଯେଉଁ ଦିଗରେ ଥାଆନ୍ତୁ ନା କାହିଁକି, ଶ୍ରୀମନ୍ଦିରର ମୁଖ୍ୟ ଗୁମ୍ବଜର ଛାଇ ଭୂମି ଉପରେ ପଡ଼ିନଥାଏ।
​ସମୁଦ୍ର ଶବ୍ଦ ଗାୟବ: ସିଂହଦ୍ୱାର ଦେଇ ମନ୍ଦିର ଭିତରକୁ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରିବା ମାତ୍ରେ ବାହାରେ ଶୁଣାଯାଉଥିବା ସମୁଦ୍ର ଲହଡ଼ିର ଶବ୍ଦ ଆଉ ଶୁଣାଯାଏ ନାହିଁ। ମନ୍ଦିରରୁ ବାହା���କୁ ଆସିବା କ୍ଷଣି ଶବ୍ଦ ପୁନର୍ବାର ସ୍ପଷ୍ଟ ଶୁଣାଯାଏ।
​ନିଷିଦ୍ଧ ଆକାଶମାର୍ଗ: ଶ୍ରୀମନ୍ଦିର ଗୁମ୍ବଜ ଉପରେ କୌଣସି ପକ୍ଷୀ ବସିବା କିମ୍ବା ଏହାର ଉପର ଆକାଶ ଦେଇ ଉଡ଼ିଯିବା କଦାପି ଦେଖାଯାଏ ନାହିଁ।
​
​କୁଡ଼ୁଆ ରାନ୍ଧିବା ନିୟମ: ରୋଷଘର ଚୁଲିରେ ଗୋଟିଏ ଉପରେ ଆରଟି ଏପରି ୭ଟି ମାଟି କୁଡ଼ୁଆ ରଖି ରନ୍ଧାଯାଏ। ଚୁଲିର ନିଆଁ ତଳେ ଥିଲେ ବି ସବୁଠାରୁ ଉପରେ ଥିବା କୁଡ଼ୁଆର ଅନ୍ନ ପ୍ରଥମେ ସିଦ୍ଧ ହୁଏ ଏବଂ ସବୁଠାରୁ ତଳେ ଥିବା କୁଡ଼ୁଆର ଅନ୍ନ ଶେଷରେ ରାନ୍ଧି ହୁଏ।
​ଅନ୍ନ ନଷ୍ଟ ନ ହେବା: ପ୍ରତିଦିନ ରନ୍ଧାଯାଉଥିବା ମହାପ୍ରସାଦ ଯେତେ ଭକ୍ତ ଆସିଲେ ବି କେବେ ହେଲେ କମ୍ ପଡ଼େ ନାହିଁ କିମ୍ବା ବୃଥାରେ ନଷ୍ଟ ହୋଇ ବଳିପଡ଼େ ନାହିଁ।
