Today, I apprised Sri Akal Takht Sahib that the @AAPPunjab government chose to ignore the constructive suggestions made by me as Leader of Opposition on April 13 regarding the sacrilege act.

Governments must listen with humility, not arrogance, when institutions of such immense spiritual authority raise concerns.

ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਦੋਂ ਵੀ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਧਿਰ ਭਗਵੰਤ ਮਾਨ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਵਾਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਘੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਬੋਲਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਦੋਂ ਵੀ ਚੈਨਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਲ��ਈਵ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਰਣ ਕੱਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਸੀ ਤੇ ਅੱਜ ਉਹੀ ਰਵੱਈਆ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਵੀ ਵੇਖਣ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆ। ਕਈ ਨਿਊਜ਼ ਚੈਨਲਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਹੀ ਲਾਈਵ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਰਣ ਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਂ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰੀਆਂ ਚਲਾ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ।

ਹਾਲਾਤ ਇੱਥੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਏ ਕਿ ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਦ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਰੋਕ ਕੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਦੇ ਸਪੀਕਰ ਸ. ਕੁਲਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਧਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਪਿਆ ਕਿ ਚੈਨਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਫ਼ੋਨ ਕਰਕੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਲਾਈਵ ਦਿਖਾਈ ਜਾਵੇ।

ਬਹੁਤ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਆਪ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਤੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਸੰਜੀਦਗੀ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਥੇ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਤਾਨਾਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਦਾ ਇਸਤੇਮਾਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਨਿਊਜ਼ ਚੈਨਲਾਂ ’ਤੇ ਇਹ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਨਾ ਦਿਖਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਪਾਬੰਦੀ ਲਗਾਈ ਗਈ।

Punjab’s debt burden has now crossed approximately ₹4.19 lakh crore with today’s fresh borrowing of ₹1,500 crore.

The Punjab Government has once again notified fresh borrowings through government securities. Every few weeks, another loan is added while Punjab continues to struggle with poor irrigation, inadequate healthcare, crumbling infrastructure, rising unemployment, and mounting financial stress.

The issue is accountability. With Punjab’s debt now standing at around ₹4.19 lakh crore, the people of Punjab deserve to know how every borrowed rupee is being spent and what returns it is generating.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann must answer:

• How much has your government borrowed since March 2022?

• What major assets, infrastructure projects, or long-term investments have been created from these borrowings?

• How much public money has been spent on the ongoing “Milni” programmes, including helicopter travel, event management, publicity campaigns, logistics, and other administrative expenses?

• If Punjab’s finances are under such pressure that the government must keep borrowing, how does it justify the expenditure on these political outreach events?

• Will your government make the complete expenditure on every “Milni” programme public?

Punjab deserves transparency, accountability, and prudent financial management—not an ever-growing mountain of debt.
