"The Shs916b police budget devotes Shs172.6b for surveillance and acquisition of firepower to deal with civil disobedience, but spares only Shs94.4b for officers’ welfare, with only 18 of every 100 police officers able to get accommodation."

Damulira John (aged 50) was abducted from his shop by heavily armed military personnel on 21st Nov, 2020. Six people he was taken with were dumped in the bush after extreme torture. To date, Damulira's whereabouts are unknown! The regime ignored the court order for his release.
Last night a fire outbreak destroyed homes and properties of over 200 residents of Kamwokya, and left several people dead or injured. This morning I passed on a message of support to area leaders. @NUP_Ug has delivered relief to victims. We encourage other leaders to follow suit
We welcome the Constitutional Court ruling declaring trial of civilians in military courts illegal! It's taken six years but better late than never. We hope the regime will respect it and free the hundreds of citizens held illegally by these courts.

I continue to encourage friends and comrades to find time and read books. We must defeat the saying that if you want to hide something from an African, put it in a book! So today, I shared a list of 10 books which I've found insightful for friends to read over the next 6 months.
Our legal team secured orders for their unconditional release several months back, they were ignored! Over 350 supporters are still missing. Thousands are in prisons. These are crimes against humanity which Gen. Museveni and his criminal enforcers will have to account for.
Unbelievable! Eight months and the scars visible, some wounds fresh. They speak of how soldiers beat them up, cut their bodies, placed burning cigarettes on their private parts, and injected them with unknown substances. All this while, their arms were tied to the back.
Here are comrades Matovu Denis (21), Sonko Richard (25) and Turyatunga Bruce (36). Nakibuuka Soloome (44) is Matovu & Sonko's mother- gone through hell looking for her sons. They were abducted on 8th December last year, held incommunicado, severely tortured, until yesterday.
Today, the leadership of @NUP_Ug addressed the nation on the regime's handling of the COVID19 pandemic, characterised by gross corruption and mismanagement of public resources as highlighted by the Auditor General. We are making numerous proposals because Uganda deserves better

CNN's @ZainAsher speaks with Ugandan musician-turned-politician @HEBobiWine, who ran for president in January 2021 and lost to President Yoweri Museveni.
Museveni claimed he had been re-elected for a sixth term despite widespread allegations of fraud and intimidation.
Such an honor to connect, @cthagod. Thank you for using your greatness to make the world a better place for brothers and sisters near and far. None of us is free until all of us are free.

Very refreshing Jurisprudence harmered down by the Constitutional Court on the powers and legality of the military court martial! A real breath of fresh air to the many citizens otracized by the regime using the court martial as the hiding place; we live to die another day!!

Shakira was the mother of a newborn baby. Shamim was pregnant with triplets.
Both women survived. The triplets did not. #UgandaIsBleeding
