Mohan Bhagwat’s proposed Canada visit has triggered a political row, with Canada’s New Democratic Party renewing its demand to ban the RSS and deny entry to its chief. ⁠

The NDP has accused the RSS of promoting hatred and violence against minorities — allegations the organisation has rejected. The party also says more than 200 Canadian civil-society organisations have called for Bhagwat to be denied entry. The NDP is now urging the Canadian government to use its immigration laws to block the visit. Will Canada actually deny entry to the RSS chief?

Canadian MPs are now urging the Canadian government to:

1. Block your entry into Canada.
2. ⁠Rigorously investigate the RSS’s foreign interference activities in Canada.
3. ⁠Ban the RSS in Canada.
4. ⁠Designate it as a terrorist entity.

I say, India’s honour is far more important than the disrepute your petty trip to Canada at the end of August could bring to the country.

If you have even a shred of shame left - or the slightest love for India - don’t go to Canada.

Clearly, they’ve done their homework. They’d rather avoid you like the plague.

And more importantly, India could do without the humiliation you cause.

Mr Kiren Rijiju is wrong. Women's reservation in the Lok Sabha is already provided in the law under the Constitution (106th Amendment) Act, 2023 as pointed out by Mr Rahul Gandhi

I am still giving our leader Rahul Gandhi the benefit of the doubt that he is unaware of how women in the Goa Congress are being treated attacked, silenced, suspended and even expelled for speaking their minds and expressing themselves.

Our families are not patriarchal. We are heard, respected and given the freedom to express ourselves. It is within the party that our voices seem to become a problem.

If you truly believe in the freedom of women to express themselves, then let women in your own party speak, dissent and question without fear.

Women don’t need permission to have a voice. Please practice what you preach.

P.S. Our suspension was announced through the media, without a suspension letter ever being handed to us. And now, our expulsion too has been announced through the media, yet again without a formal expulsion letter.
