Indigenous Peoples often face health disparities that are rooted in historical injustices & systemic inequities. Indigenous Peoples must be included & meaningfully engaged in decision-making for Indigenous-led solutions.

Today's #UNPFII2025 session discussed financing of Indigenous Peoples’ work & participation across the multilateral & regional system. A common theme of the dialogue was the importance of direct finance to Indigenous Peoples to guarantee their self-determination

#IWD2025#Indigenous women are key holders of traditional knowledge but are often stopped from participating in decision-making spaces.
What did Baka indigenous women discuss when they came together in one of the first ever women’s regional exchanges?🌿

Some of the many indigenous communities of India who have been living along its rivers, dense forests and hilltops for centuries, guarding their land, beliefs and the biological and cultural mega-diversity of the nation.
Should only well-offs be getting into academia?
Because if such fund crunch continues, it is impossible for the have-nots to aspire for higher education. Where exactly are we heading?

Deeply concerning. Educ as a sector has been receiving less and less fiscal support via grants from centre, year after year. On top of it, the administrative procedures! PhDing in India is a plight to go through. @ugc_india@EduMinOfIndia
This is a serious concrn right nw and not only JNU students, PhD students frm othr institutions also facing dis same issue. The procedures to claim our fellowships are becoming difficlt with time and aftr doing all the procedures also we can't expct our money on time! @ugc_india
I am in the field, carrying out the requisite for my PhD. The last time I received my JRF stipend from @ugc_india was the last week of June 2024. After that not a single penny. And it's not only me. Several students at JNU are facing this problem.

To the whole medico and non medico community in Twitter, I request everyone to raise your voice against the heinous crime involving rape and murder of an on duty doctor in RgKar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata (WB), India. #JusticeForRgkar
So AIIMS forensic team confirms what some of us said for weeks/months: Sushant Singh Rajput is a clear cut case of suicide not murder. Will CBI now have courage to say it openly or will politics still be played with an eye on polls? Watch this space: Satyamev Jayate!🙏
So a group of upper caste villagers in Hathras can hold a panchayat but the grieving Dalit families are barricaded and can’t meet anyone because of section 144. Wonder what Mahatma and Babasaheb would have said. Think about it. 🙏 #DalitLivesMatter
So called influencers and bigwigs gas-lighting a young reporter like #tanushreepandey and bullying her online. Wow. You must be scared of her grit, rigor and honesty in reporting the #HathrasHorror ...Well done @TanushreePande for shaking them up. Let truth, journalism prevail.
ABSOLUTELY UNBELIEVABLE - Right behind me is the body of #HathrasCase victim burning. Police barricaded the family inside their home and burnt the body without letting anybody know. When we questioned the police, this is what they did.
