@BasedMikeLee Any change in status would also require a constitutional amendment to adjust the 23rd amendment that gives the district voting rights without statehood. Without amendment, the district could double dip or effectively give 3 electorial votes to the sitting president.

Can be confusing when traveling to states that have a different rule and you get in trouble for stopping or you get in trouble for not stopping.
