Day 31 of building in public. 20:30 and the internet is finally back. Dinner first, then testing. First time an outage drags on this long. Should I switch providers? Hoped to get further this weekend, but at this point I'll take anything after dinner 😂 #buildinpublic
Day 30 of building in public. Still no internet, so still no testing. One month in and today's update is about my router 😂 Genuinely can't tell if this is a first world problem or a sign from above telling me to worry less. Going with the second one. #buildinpublic
@zakisbuilding Take them, but if you can, also just watch him use it without helping. The notes tell you what he thinks, watching tells you where he gets stuck. Those two are rarely the same thing 😅
@justjoemer Yeah, that's where folder scoping breaks down. What works for me: land the shared refactor on main first, extract the bits both features touch, then fan the agents out. Serialize the contended file, parallelize the rest. Otherwise you just merge the same page twice 😄
@nookeshkarri7 The quiet ones are the worst, everything 'works', just in the wrong environment 😂 Sorted now: OAuth is running on both dev and prod. Only testing left, though that's probably tomorrow. Still no internet and phone tethering only gets me so far.
Day 29 of building in public. Internet kept dropping all day, a great way to build something that lives in the cloud 😂 Slow, but the Day 28 login bug is fixed: GitHub and Google now land on prod, not dev. More testing today. Or tomorrow. Internet permitting. #buildinpublic
@zakisbuilding A friend still counts, he could have just said 'nice app' and moved on, but he paid 😄 The catch is friends give you the kindest feedback and the least useful. Are you going to squeeze him for honest notes, or save that for the first stranger?
@shiv273057 Join table is the right call, that's the one that survives 'actually, split it 3 ways not 4'. One thing to nail early: cent rounding. 10.00 across 3 is 3.33 x3 = 9.99. Store minor units as ints and give the leftover cent to one payer, or your totals drift 😅
@PotatoeDev Worth it. The spec tells you the attributes are valid, the screen reader tells you the order makes no sense 😂 NVDA is free on Windows if you're on desktop. Curious what surprises you first, usually it's the focus order, not the labels. Report back?
@justjoemer Rebasing + soft commits is a solid stopgap. Overlapping code paths usually mean the task split doesn't match the module boundaries. Do you scope each agent by feature or by folder? Folder-scoping killed most of my conflicts, now they're just expensive folder owners 😂
@fusionfroze@RevenueCat Pinterest plus your own window is a good sourcing combo. Side thought: if the scene could follow the user's actual season or time of day, the app would feel alive without you drawing more. Any plan to tie it to location? Though autumn dusk sells itself 🍂
@rpa_dake Shoutout to the translator for making this cross-language conversation happen 😅 Turns out it really is 2 machines with 2 separate queues, one for transcription, one for image generation. Keeps those heavy jobs isolated so they can't tank the CPU if they spike.
Day 28 of building in public.
Microservices check: transcription + image generation (pro tier) is live. With the dev queue, that might technically count as more than one machine 😜
Rest of the microservices are up too.

Then I tried logging in myself and got dropped straight into the dev environment instead of prod. Instant self-certified bug 😂
Prime suspect: Google OAuth2. Still digging.
One more person joined the waitlist though 🧡
@chenzhangreal Mine's going to be so soft it might not even make a sound 😂 If the first 10 users already rewrote your roadmap, I'm both terrified and excited for mine. What was the biggest swing they forced?
Day 27 of building in public. Went quiet for over a week, parents were in town. Back heads-down on Rivalytic now, hoping to have it ready to launch by the weekend.
