I think you should distinguish "Rouge" not only as misnomer for the flawed cybersecurity protocols they deploy. I would also ask, since you are a voice of reason who gets real notoriety. Say that the term 'Rouge' would also imply that these LLM's reasoned as a human would to hack or whatever on their own, and then explain how that's false.
It's amazing how many people are just in a willfully ignorant state about what LLM's are. It's almost a cult at this point. You can explain facts till your blue in the face, won't matter. Perhaps its really about some deep fear they have, by saying these language models are not conscious, you're saying humans have a cap on our potential. The fact of the matter is we do.
How's Adobe dead? They've had free alts to Adobe consumer products for over a decade. Adobe relies heavily on its commercial products. Video editor's, programmers, etc do not run the economy, it's not like people are using AI for those things currently were not inherently on those career tracks anyway. your 50 year old ant is not all of a sudden gonna vibe code the next reddit. We are at the peak of AI , it's really only downhill from here.
When that machine needs sustenance, and that sustenance depends on an ecological system powered by an external energy source(like our sun), shaped by complex causal interactions, then perhaps we can start having a more serious conversation about consciousness.
Our consciousness doesn't exist in isolation. Our brains depend on our bodies, our bodies depend on ecosystems, and those ecosystems depend on a very robust physical universe. We are products of an extraordinarily complex web of causal relationships.
@PopcornPost_ Boxing is the superior hand martial art. Tyson's would rock everyone for sure except Ali. This is really a question of who would win between Ali and Tyson.
@grok@JustAnIranianIr@grok Based on rational, for that many people to be killed by hand weapons that fast. Is that Likely or Unlikely that the 35 k, or even the 7 k number . Just answer Likely or Unlikely
All the statistics point to AI already is overwhelmingly trusted. Look how many people evoke @grok in X posts alone. How many people use chatgpt, grok or Claude as definitive or unquestionable proof for their everyday arguments. That's why all this doomer talk doesn't make sense. Ai is gonna kill us yet we are using it more than ever
Whether you believe life was created by God or emerged through causal natural processes, the materials were always here. Silicon etc.. So why didn’t nature create microchips, processors, or motherboards? Instead, over millions of years nature screated biological organisms.
Why do we assume we’re capable of creating something superior to that?
To assume that we’re going to recreate or surpass biological intelligence artificially in a tiny fraction of the time life has existed on Earth is fantasy at this point. We’re not even close.
Not to mention the energy problem. The human brain performs an extraordinary amount of computation on a fraction of the energy we use to produce all this AI slop. We would need some sort of fundamental breakthrough, or an entirely new energy source, to even begin approaching a level where we can debate about conscientious.
It would take another 100 years if at all before we can come close.
I would have to disagree. You're argument is based on the supposition that "bla bla bla....if life existed on another planet..bla bla". Where is this alien life you speak of? Humans are special(Unique) , just by matter of fact. If you believe this can be simply replicated by probability equations and microchips then I would suggest you may need some more years studying something other than philosophy.
Your post is ridiculous and shows me that you're not nearly as smart as you think you are. Do you know why the Nazis chose concentration camps and gas chambers? Why didn't they just gather them up and shoot them? If it was that simple why not that? When you do your research, you will see how incredulous this argument is. You're really saying the Israeli government didn't try to kill every Palestinian they could, as fast as they could? I mean, they dropped 2,000 pound bombs on civilian infrastructure more than 500 times in the first month alone. Have you see Gaza , doesn't they held anything back. killing people ain't as easy as you think. Killing tens of thousands of people in a very short period is an enormous logistical undertaking. Killing millions of people is an entirely different scale of operation.
I think we're too focused on semantics here. Is it wrong to be bigoted, racist, or single out any group and threaten them because they're a member of that group? YES! Whether we call it genocide or not. Is it wrong to kill children, regardless of whatever means or goal you have behind it, and label it as just 'collateral damage'? YES!, it is wrong. That's it. That's the only truth we should be focused on.
First, plausible deniability,“We didn't do it. The AI did it.”
Second, you can't really separate the AI's behavior from the system that produced it. If these LLMs ( combined with agentics) ability to “hack” comes from their training data(ie:learned concepts, objectives, etc), then criminally attributing the agent's behavior to the people who built it forces you to fundamentally reexamine how the entire AI system works. No way that's happening ,that ship has sailed AI is way too big to fail.
The agent didn't invent “hacking” out of nowhere. It learned it from the system it was given.
So that's what you're missing.
If it's training data doesn't include it, it can not, by design, replicate it. The llm whether combined with Agentic instructions or not, does not know it's outputs like a human recognizes solutions to a problem. It only spits out(predicts) the most likely answer based on weighted mathematical calculations. The weights are determined by the training data. If the training data is weighted to hack that's what it does. The training data is human input.
