So about two weeks ago, I went out to a provision store for the first time since we moved into this neighborhood.
I met a man there, I transferred 5100, collected cash, and then bought a few items, everything was 5000, then I transferred (or so I thought) and left.
Tell me why I went back there earlier this week, met his wife, transferred 11300 (for cash) when she saw my name she said, I bought some things, collected cash but I only transferred money for the cash I collected, and that she and her husband have been waiting for me to come back. She then told me to wait.
She took her neighbor's phone, called her husband and said "the woman wey do that transfer don come back"
Immediately, she said that, all her neighbors in that shop got up to look at me, I was feeling so embarrassed.
I went through my transaction history, realized that it was my mistake, and then transferred the 5k, but she wouldn't let me go, she told me to wait for her husband.
Her husband arrived with his friends, looking like they wanted to come beat a thief.
They all stood in front of me, looking down at me (I was sitting), I explained myself, got up and left.
I got home and started ranting, hubby went there to see them, he called me and then gave the phone to the lady and she started shouting and apologizing
"Aunty I'm sorry o, ah, na your husband be this brother, he dey buy market for my hand well well o, I no know say you be him wife o, he dey even dash my baby money, I take God beg you no vex for us"
I've sha told my husband that I'll no longer buy anything there.
JMF???
He is not perfect but he is a standup guy!
Since I was born:
- my dad is the only person who has attended all my speech and price giving ceremonies from nursery to SS3. mind you, I was not bright from primary school till I got to JSS2! (story for another day)
- when I was giving my valedictory speech as the head boy of my set, he was so proud of the guy that I had turned into, so much so that my almighty dad (who is the toughest man I know) broke down in tears as he was spraying me new notes on stage! that thing moved me! but I had to continue with my speech.
- every single thing I ventured into as a kid, he supported me. when I played football to amateur level (NFA under 10-12 in Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna) he took me to every training sessions. drove me down for my trials.
- despite my stubbornness as a kid, he was the only one who did not believe I was possessed and fought against everyone who thought I was! he was also the first parent who stopped flogging me and moved to just talking sense into me!
- I washed my own clothes for the first time in my life because my class mates were laughing at me for not being a big boy in SS2! prior to that, either the dry cleaners or my dad handled my laundry! washing-ironing and keeping them arranged in my box! from a baby till SS2!
- since I was born till today that they are in my house at the moment, my mother has never washed her own clothes by herself. My dad did that!
- my common entrance exams, he took me to my centers, and after exams he took me to my favorite eateries to eat my best meal. MIND YOU, I WAS AN OLODO AT THE TIME.
there’s more, but I will stop here!
