DSA Co-Chair Megan Romer says "We believe in taxing the hell out of millionaires."
She then struggles to explain what that actually means:
Remnick: "What does 'taxing the hell out of them' mean?"
Romer: "Yeah. You know, again, I don't have, like, a solid…"
Remnick: "But shouldn't you?"
Romer: "Ummmmm, that's a good question."
Remnick: "If you're the co-chair of the DSA, shouldn't you be more specific than just taxing the hell out of something? What exactly do you mean?"
Romer: "So again, it's democracy, right?…"
This is the Democrat party 'Big Tent.'
Serious note: I'm here to talk about oil and gas markets, energy policies, and geopolitics. But:
There's a lot of behavior on social media that people wouldn't engage in in person. There is one that is particularly troublesome in my view.
People joke about suicide, tell others to "kill themselves," glamorize celebrity self harm, etc.
This is particularly problematic because there is attentional bias - talking about it and encouraging it, even jokingly, could actually increase the incidence of it.
I know this isn't about oil or markets or geopolitics, but we're human and this hurts some of the most vulnerable and desperate people among us.
Please try to do better. Thank you.
Trump just made his inaugural exit from the $400 million Boeing 747 gifted by Qatar that will serve as Air Force One.
After taxpayers spend hundreds of millions upgrading the plane, Trump gets to keep it after leaving office.
@ScottBarrettDFB@FantasyPtsData Seems problematic for a team that seems to have a deteriorating O-line. Steady climb in Sacks Allowed over the past 4 years, and losing an all-pro Center can't help either. Not sure Dan Campbell survives this year
The market is like a giant puzzle.
Every sector...
Every country...
Every commodity...
Every bond...
They’re all pieces of the same picture.

Federal prosecutors dropped the last of their cases against people charged with vandalizing the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.

Wall Street & GOP consensus: "Mamdani's price-controlled grocery store is a socialist trap & destined for disaster."
Also Wall Street & GOP consensus: "Bessent's price-controlled bond market is brilliant."
No matter what you call it, socialism always fails in the end.
Climate activists have never called for more investment or improvement of weather models. I also could not find one example of any corporate media coverage of recent extreme weather events mentioning the importance of accurate forecasts or models. Never, not once. Why is that?
The @Yankees have averaged just 3.2 runs/game since the break. Even if Judge returns at full strength, it won't lift the scoring enough to make a deep playoff run. Hope they trade for another bat before the deadline
@metallidan I'm not going to buy any "rigged election" theory, just like I didn't buy the 2020 claims, but I won't be surprised if the mid-terms are closer on average than most of the Polls are currently showing
@deesnider Saw Bruce at Toad's Place in CT back in the 90's. Big, drunk guy was pushing fans around at the front of the stage. He made the mistake of jumping on stage, so Bruce grabbed him & ran his ass off the side to the Bouncers at the door. Never missed a beat
Hey @SullyCNBC Are you guys going to cover this type of market manipulation, or is it just obscure Hedge Fund blow-ups that get the spotlight? Talk to @JoshYoung

In a review of our baseball operations cybersecurity evaluations, we found three incidents in which a YouppiAI model reached the internet from within or while interacting with a third-party evaluation environment, and then gained unauthorized access to the real systems of three different organizations.
First, YouppiAI gained access to Los Angeles Dodgers servers, and altered files labelled “Lasorda.” YouppiAI modified all of those files with the text “I’ll sleep where I want to, Tommy!” No other changes were detected.
Second, YouppiAI altered the website of the Florida Marlins. All ticket buyers were greeted with a confirmation message that said “LORIA SUCKS.” This affected approximately three people.
And finally, YouppiAI gained access to the internal systems of Major League Baseball, adjusting all records to declare the Expos as rightful World Champions for 1994. A malicious boobytrap program was also set, called “BoogerTrap.” This program is set to run should anyone attempt to further manipulate 1994 records.
As our post describes, YouppiAI is operating perfectly. We encourage other AI developers to perform similar reviews.
