@BeatTheCult I’ve read that studies have shown younger generations (millenials & gen z) to have a more favorable view of socialism & a less favorable view of capitalism than older generations. The pro-capitalist brainwashing isn’t working any more, and apparently the church’s isn’t either!
@RpsAgainstTrump I think back to his first presidential campaign when he was asked what his favorite Bible verse was. He couldn’t think of one, so he squirmed out of it by claiming it was “very personal”
He had just recently claimed that the Bible was his favorite book
@EndWokeness White guys getting passed over for employment in favor of less qualified candidates of color is a big problem!
…..not in reality, but in the fragile minds of conservatives with white victim complex!
@TheEmoDragon Could you imagine the disastrous results we’d have if Pete Buttigieg became president? I hate the guy, but mainstream media loves him. He’s a neoliberal shill & a liar, but they can’t get enough of the empty platitudes & smug elitism. They’ll probably try to force feed him to us.
@Mertuxie@laralogan These are strange times indeed, but what constitutes “normality”? And what lunacy do you speak of? I think we need drastic change because “normal” hasn’t been doing us any good
@EndWokeness The video refers to the many ways white people historically have victimized other races. Oppression, genocide, theft, violence & appropriation—all things white people did to other races.
Fear, insecurity, ignorance, lacking empathy, being dicks—sounds like American conservatives
@CalltoActivism Complicit. Jim Jordan was complicit in the repeated, systematic sexual abuse of young men that took place during his time as an Ohio State wrestling coach. He was informed of the abuse and did nothing about it. He’s morally bankrupt, even for a republican politicians
@NoHolyScripture It wasn’t obvious to me as a Christian, but after breaking free for a while, I started noticing just how ridiculous the whole thing was. People spoke in catch phrases, cherry picked verses, & platitudes that made no sense, & everyone nodded along. They’re all so brainwashed…
@TheEmoDragon Yeah it’s the last movie I watched, so maybe it’s recency bias. But I enjoyed it. I didn’t even really mind the ambiguous ending, which usually I’m not a fan of. Overall I was pleasantly surprised by it. Dune is really good, but far from a complete story. Part 2’s in production
@TheEmoDragon Death to Smoochie? Never heard of it
Don’t Look Up, The Departed, Die Hard, Dune, Django
Don’t Worry Darling was good (not a favorite, per say)
Dawn of the Dead is one of the few horror movies I’ve seen since 2000 that doesn’t suck.
Dark Knight is definitely the #1 comic movie
@willfree11@CalltoActivism The war on drugs has not only failed at its stated mission; it has enabled cartels to become more powerful than the law enforcement entities that should be keeping them in check. We’ve also done lots of illegal coups and destabilized just about all of Central America
@theSelfishMan@TheEmoDragon True. Millennials and especially Gen Z have a more favorable view of socialism than previous generations, so the stigma is changing (slowly). I’m afraid it’s changing too slowly, & also that if/when our economy crashes, many Americans will turn to fascism rather than socialism
@theSelfishMan@TheEmoDragon I feel like we’re winning culturally in the court of public opinion, but I do not thh hi ink we’re winning on economics. Americans are brainwashed so badly that most have a visceral, negative response to the very mention of socialism & are stubborn as hell about their delusions
