Protests, rallies and demonstrations demanding an end to ECI-administered Vote Chori and election rigging for the RSS-BJP are acts of patriotism.

The protests are not the problem. The problem is the government’s obstinacy to save the chair of a bureaucrat who wins elections for them.

Delhi’s traders, too, must fulfil their patriotic duty by demanding that the government remove Gyanesh Babu.

Gen Z across the country is taking to the streets.

In Delhi, it is for education. In Arunachal Pradesh, it is to protect the forests, rivers and ecosystems that the Adi people have depended on for centuries.

From Delhi to Arunachal, the response has been the same: repression. In a chilling reminder of student protests in Delhi, tear gas has been fired at peaceful protesters in Arunachal Pradesh.

The Adi people are a religious and cultural minority whose beliefs and traditions are deeply rooted in the Siang River and adjoining forests they are protesting to protect against the proposed 11,000 MW dam in the Upper Siang region.

Since @AmitShah is busy on thank you calls to Delhi Police, will Minister of Minority Affairs @KirenRijiju kindly explain what he is doing to protect the minority rights of the Adi people in his home state?

In his video on X, a certain BJP wannabe animatedly points to Bikaner House’s policy on art shows and exhibitions, claiming that political content is not permitted.

In that context, let me present an artwork exhibited at Bikaner House itself in September 2025 - video attached. I would argue that it is deeply political.

1. At a time when Modi’s face is plastered on everything from foodgrain bags to roadside banners, projecting him as the source of every benefit, that face becomes deeply political.

2. Portraying Modi, rather wishfully, on an equal footing with Mahatma Gandhi is a political statement in itself.

This raises serious questions about the double standards of Bikaner House and, by extension, the government.

Clearly, ‘political art’ is not the problem. The politics behind it is.

If it glorifies and pedestalises the master, it is welcome. If it celebrates democracy, the Constitution and every citizen’s inherent right to protest, suddenly it is unacceptable.
