The machines that power most American bowling alleys are beginning to break down, and repairmen who know how to fix them are increasingly rare.

These machines, called A-2 pinsetters, were manufactured by Brunswick Corporation in the 1960s. They're highly complex, with thousands of moving parts.

Because new parts for the pinsetters are increasingly hard to find, and there are fewer and fewer people with the expertise to repair the machines, bowling alleys are replacing them with string pin machines, which hang the pins from ropes.

With these new machines, the pins no longer free-fall or get swept away between frames.

Police were attempting to serve a warrant on a truck driver in connection to a several violent crimes and questioning in a homicide.

Police say he was armed.

He was wanted on several violent criminal charges including:
