I introduced a motion in the Dutch parliament yesterday evening to close the Iranian Embassy in The Hague and expel all their diplomats. The brave Iranian people deserve our support. Unfortunately the motion was rejected by a majority.

Europe stands up to be counted.
Designating the Iranian regime's oppressive IRGC as a terrorist organisation is the right decision, that even a few weeks ago so many said was impossible.
Proud of the European Parliament's sustained, unified effort that helped push this breakthrough.
Now, time to stand strong. Iran will be free.
To those denying the massive death toll in Iran’s January 2026 protest crackdown, dismissing figures in the tens of thousands as “inflated” or “impossible” because WWII battles took months, here’s the reality check:
Iran has ~90 million people (estimates around 89–93 million in 2026). Its 6 largest cities alone total well over 20 million: Tehran ~9.8M, Mashhad ~3.5M, Isfahan ~2.3–2.4M, Shiraz ~1.8M, Tabriz ~1.7M, Karaj ~1.6M. That’s a massive, densely packed urban population where protests erupted nationwide across dozens of cities.
Unlike wars with armed armies, barricades, defenses, and mutual fire, these were unarmed protesters crowded in streets and squares, no cover, no weapons, no shooting back. Regime snipers, Basij, and security forces with live ammo could (and reports say did) slaughter hundreds or thousands in hours or single days, especially during the Jan 8-9 peak.
Even worse: Forces raided ambulances and hospitals, executing wounded on stretchers or beds. Leaked photos, doctor testimonies, and reports show victims with IVs, catheters, and hospital gear still attached… plus fresh bullet holes in their heads.
Those purposely turning a blind eye, downplaying or excusing the murder of tens of thousands of protesters and the immense pain/suffering of Iran’s nation, are enabling impunity. This wasn’t a “battle”; it was a one-sided massacre.

“When we first entered the streets, there was hope that we could do something, and that Israel and the U.S. would help us. Now there is just death—so many dead.” An Iranian protester shares his story. https://t.co/s6gMHoPJX8

From the streets of Tehran to the heart of the European Parliament, the message is clear:

The @Europarl_EN has overwhelmingly voted to back the aspirations of the Iranian people. We have called for decisive action to:
• Stop the violence: End the brutal crackdown and mass killings of peaceful protesters.
• Halt executions: Immediately stop the state-sanctioned killings used to silence dissent.
• Free the brave: Release every imprisoned demonstrator and political prisoner.
• Target the oppressors: Designate the IRGC as a terrorist organisation and hold those responsible accountable.
To the courageous people of Iran:
Even when cables are cut, we hear you.
Even when blackouts fall, we see you.
You are not alone.
The European Parliament stands firmly with you.
The Islamic Republic leaders' commitment to killing people they rule is unwavering. Regardless of how busy they were mass killing and mass arresting protesters, they didn't forget about people on death row.

The Islamic Republic is not just a killer in the streets.
It is a killer in our everyday lives.
A killer of our future.
A killer of our hope, our human dignity, our joy, and our laughter.

Regime burying injured protesters alive: While identifying victims killed by the regime, some families in Tehran, Esfahan & Arak reported encountering bodies that were still alive in body bags. Reports of mass burials raise the possibility that some victims were buried alive.
City walls are covered with funeral notices & bloody handprints. In Hamedan, Hashd al-Shaabi deliberately targeted girls. In Shiraz, #IRGCterrorists fired blindly, leaving bodies, human & even stray cats, on every corner. Countless beheaded bodies in Tehran. #DigitalBlackoutIran
🔴 Tomorrow afternoon.
Parliament will debate the brutal violence in Iran, where authorities have used lethal force against protesters.
Watch the debate live on this account.
Abbas Aragchi is the voice of a regime that is committing democide, killing 16,000+ people in the last two weeks alone.
He does not represent Iran. He is a criminal. Davos should not give him a platform.
All decent people must protest his presence.
