Clarence Thomas' remarks on progressivism, its foundations, history, and impact -- from his appearance at UT Austin today, 4/15/26.
Entire unedited appearance attached below.
We need more people who can talk to one another about the ideas and impacts of individual morality, group morality, and how to function as a society of individuals.
How does something immoral, when done privately, become moral when it is done collectively? Furthermore, does legality establish morality? Slavery was legal; apartheid is legal; Stalinist, Nazi, and Maoist purges were legal. Clearly, the fact of legality does not justify these crimes. Legality, alone, cannot be the talisman of moral people.
– Walter E. Williams
"Consistent prayer during joyous times and also during seasons of distress and grief will surely be rewarded according to His will and perfect timing."
The world today seems to be in commotion. There are wars and rumors of wars. The economies of whole continents seem to be faltering. Prophesied wickedness seems to be accelerating as the Savior’s return draws nearer.
Yet despite turmoil and difficulty, faithful Latter-day Saints in hardship across the world have flooded heaven with prayers.
In public, and in private, they are petitioning the Lord for help, for comfort, for direction, and personal peace for those they love.
Jesus Christ, in whose name we pray, lives, knows us, watches over us, and cares for us.
As we pray continually, no matter the circumstances of life, the Lord will offer us His peace and abiding support.
Consistent prayer during joyous times and also during seasons of distress and grief will surely be rewarded according to His will and perfect timing.

Politics encourages us to make enemies out of our neighbors, hate them, and demand that they are harmed. We are told to push for policies that make their lives worse, and ultimately make our own worse in the process too.
Jesus tells us to love our neighbors, and even our enemies, and make sacrifices for them. We are told to share the Gospel with them so they may have eternal life, and ultimately we build up treasure for ourselves in Heaven.
I write this to convict and remind myself to stay focused on what I'm called to do. If it does the same for you, then I guess you're welcome.
Another appalling and disgraceful effort by DHS to mislead the public and erode rights secured by the Constitution.
The Fourth Amendment requires a judicial warrant to enter a home. The purpose is to ensure that a separate branch of government serves as a check.
An administrative warrant comes from the executive branch, the same branch seeking entry. It’s like getting permission from yourself. This is wholly insufficient under the Fourth Amendment.
What DHS is doing is about as un-American and anti-American as it gets. Americans fought a revolution over this, and everyone should speak out against it.
The winter storm watch has already created a run on bottled water at Costco; picture is where dozens of pallets of water are usually stacked, and now only a handful remain. #LubbockWeather#Snow#Ice#Winter#LBK
I was exposed to abuse of power when I lived in CA. A foster parent/police officer/explorer leader traded in his wife for a 16 year old... who was a foster child in his home and an explorer. https://t.co/c48AtYTXDT
@toxiccowboy1 I would give it 25 minutes. 10 minutes for, "Oh, the power is out everywhere", 10 minutes for, "Everything is out everywhere", and five more minutes for, "I can't reach my children, my family, or any body in charge", and then people start panicking.
@CBSNews How about both - both have gone too far. ICE is enforcing the law, that's a good thing. Protesters are voicing their disagreement, that's a good thing (which is also protected by the law). Violent clashes between the two groups are wrong.
Where is the balance? Laws need to be enforced. We don't need to become boot stomping authoritarians. Both sides are wrong. We need more options, not everything is left or right - I'd like to move forward.
Why is Sentinel-6B built to measure the height of the ocean?
Because that measurement can affect our daily life – from improving weather forecasts to helping protect coastal infrastructure like military installations. This data also keeps ships safe at sea, like the ones carrying our packages!
