So glad someone finally wrote this piece. This is NOT about singling anyone out. Influencers make interesting and entertaining content…I love so much of their work! But there is a time and a place for everything. And the red carpet is not it.

Red carpet reporting is a tough job and a specialized craft. To do it well (and to make it look easy) requires preparation, skill and quite frankly, years of experience.

This award season proved why red carpets should be left to entertainment journalists and studied hosts.

Je connais Christophe Gleizes depuis à peine un an, mais il ne m’a pas fallu plus de temps pour découvrir en lui un journaliste passionné, sincère, efficace et redoutablement talentueux. Il a signé certaines des enquêtes les plus marquantes du journalisme sportif en France, qu’il s’agisse de la gestion opaque de la Fédération française de football ou des passe-droits dans le sport français en général. Un travail salué à juste titre.
En Algérie, Christophe a sillonné le pays avec curiosité et respect — d’Alger aux montagnes de Kabylie, de Boussaâda au mont Chenoua — toujours animé par le même rire, la même bienveillance, malgré un contrôle judiciaire pesant et l’éloignement de sa famille et de ses proches.
À travers ses longues marches quotidiennes dans Alger, entre la rue Didouche Mourad et Bologhine, il a appris à connaître une ville qu’il a aimée profondément, et qui, en retour, lui a ouvert les bras.
Christophe aime son métier. Il aime aussi l’Algérie — avec sincérité, avec passion. Aujourd’hui, il ne mérite qu’une chose : sa liberté. Car un homme innocent n’a rien à faire en prison.
