A huge congratulations to SSgt Charles Coussens who last week set a new GB record. Charles set out to break the furthest distance rowed in 4 mins in the lightweight mens, 30-39 age category on a @Concept2UK rowing machine.
He broke the previous record by an impressive 6m ππ

The RAPTC Sports Awards have taken place after a break during the pandemic.
The evening was an opportunity to recognise the sporting excellence of RAPTC athletes over the past two years. A huge congratulations to all of the winners.

They've been back on land for eight weeks and they're slowly getting back to "normal" life.
4 RAPTCIs, 3000 miles, 1 boat and 1 new world record π₯πΎ
This weekend SSgt Charlton and Sgt Coussens represented the @BritishArmy at the Welsh Indoor Rowing Championships 2021.
Competing in the 2k, 500m and team relays both RAPTCIs walked away with podium finishes πͺ

Finally we had those who rowed from home. A great option which allowed personnel to row from anywhere in the world.
In total we had 148 service personnel submit their 2km times.
Indoor rowing is continuing to grow, lets keep it growing!

We also had rowers competing in Cyprus and Harrogate under the direction of SSgt Adam Griffiths and Sgt Al Crosbie. A huge thank you for organising the events.

With this years Indoor Rowing Championships being held at numerous @BritishArmy locations, no one had to get on a plane to join in.

Under the watchful eye of SSgt (SSI) Abbi Morrow MBE, numerous personnel from across the region completed the gruelling 2km indoor rowing time trial.

The Army Indoor Rowing Championships took place between 14-21 Aug 21. 130 individuals took part in the event rowing from units in Cyprus, N.Ireland, Bulford and Harrogate there was also the option to row from home.

Yesterday 3 @RAPTC_Official members represented the @Armyrowingclub at the JSR.
Sgt L Barrigan, Sgt C Coussens & SSgt B Charlton had a successful day on the water competing in 4 and 8 person crews.
Hopefully we will see more RAPTCIs on the water next year #getinvolved
