Oliver Tree has passed away at 32. The singer was killed yesterday in a helicopter collision in Rio de Janeiro while on his world tour.
He was the rare artist who made being weird the whole point. The bowl cut. The oversized jeans. The scooter. A voice that could break your heart on "Life Goes On" and crack you up on the same record.
He started as "Tree" at 17, working with Skrillex and Zeds Dead.
By the time "Miss You" and "Life Goes On" became TikTok staples, he'd built an entire universe of characters, costumes, and chaos all in service of music that was secretly devastating underneath the jokes.
"Life Goes On" alone got used in over 3.7 million TikTok videos.

He was in the middle of his world tour for Love You Madly, Hate You Badly, the album he produced entirely himself.
