The exterior of the Trust’s house in Kensington – Dr Anderson’s former home – was covered with scaffolding for several months over the summer while extensive repairs were carried out to the stonework, window frames, drainage and so on. It now looks as good as new!
The 2024 visitors’ programme is almost at an end now and we have begun to receive reports (and photos!) from some of this year’s cohort which you can read here: https://t.co/QLO6dssc4D

The Trust supported the participation of scholars from Egypt by facilitating payments for 13 visa applications, and covering the cost of flights for Engy El-Kilany, Gehad Mohamed Ibrahim Bakr (📷 w Trust Director @chrisnaunton) & Yaser Mahmoud Abouzid. Congrats to all concerned!
The Current Research in Egyptology conference (@cregyptology) - for grad students from around the world took place in Liverpool last week, and we were delighted that several Trust scholars were there (in person or online) to present the results of their work. (1/)
Great to see @MaartenPraet - Trust visiting scholar in 2023 (https://t.co/eLamntJbSi) - presenting the results of his research at @CREgyptology as well!
@MaartenPraet presented his work on reconstructing the EEF excavations at Deir el-Bahari, and how locating decorated fragments using archive can help us reassess the site’s purpose.
@CREgyptology#Archive
@MaartenPraet @CREgyptology@silkmuseummacc @Amany739797632, the first @RARCTrust resident Egyptologist, presented a paper with Hisham
Elleithy and Robert Vigar discussing some of the untold stories relating to #Egypt during the early 20th century found in the Abydos archive held in the EES.

Great to hear Yasser Mahmoud Hussein Abouzid present his research @CREgyptology comparing early dynastic tombs at Abydos and Naga ed-Deir, which previously received a Centenary Award from @TheEES.

Now we are just days away from CRE24, we wanted to take a second to thank our sponsors this year. They have helped to make possible the amazing conference were exciting to be hosting for you next week!
We look forward to seeing you in Liverpool (on Monday!) for CRE24 🥳
Many congratulations to José Teixeira, a resident at the Trust’s Kensington house, on a starring performance at the @bbcproms recently. Jose (at right in the photo) was part of an @RCMLondon orchestra performing an inspired programme including Holst’s The Planets. (1/)
One of the three delegates we will be supporting in full is Amany Abd el-Hameed, the Trust's first Resident Egyptologist (https://t.co/lsQvtlWztW) who will be presenting the results of the research she carried out in London earlier this year. We can't wait to hear all about it!
Although the Trust isn't mentioned in the 3rd Circular, we are delighted to have been able to provide assistance to Egyptian delegates attending @CREgyptology by facilitating the payment of 13 visa application fees and fully funding travel & accommodation for three speakers (1/)
📣 Our Third Circular Is Now Out 📣
Now that CRE24 is less than a week away, we’ve released our Third Circular, which you can find on our website. We’ve also put out the finalised schedule for the week!
We are looking forward to seeing you all in Liverpool for CRE24 🥳
"I was an EES scholar in 2014. I couldn’t believe it had been 10 years already since I came to London for the first time as a MA student, and I was now doing post-doc research." - Reham Zaky
It was a delight welcoming Reham back to @TheEES for her research, thanks to @RARCTrust!
Testimonials from four of this year’s visiting scholars have now appeared on the Trust’s website: https://t.co/QLO6dssc4D Great to read that Sonia Dixon, Warda Elnagar, Eleonora Terleckienė and Reham Zaky all all had such productive months in London with the Trust’s support!
Robert had worked with Bryan Emery himself at Saqqara in the 1950s and was by this time Honorary Secretary of the EES. The image is part of the collection of the late Martin Davies, the Society’s honorary legal advisor, who was probably the photographer. Thank you Aidan! (2/)
A big thank you to Prof Aidan Dodson who recently sent us this wonderful photograph taken in 1972 at the @TheEES’s dig house at Saqqara. It shows (L-R) Aly el-Khouly, an unknown woman (can anyone help?), Prof Harry Smith & the Trust’s Founder, Robert Anderson. (1/) https
