Off-piste wanderer inclined towards mountains & places wild. Northerner. Dad, Grandad, Hubby, Bro, Uncle etc. who happens to cycle. Never knowingly lost ....
@2wheelsgoodBrum It's the (not so) new Close Pass. I don't understand the mental processes involved in, essentially, driving at a vulnerable road user and not even slowing down. Clearance can be v tight.
@ChaponaBike123 Hmm. So who was on the wrong side of the road having ignored an opportunity to safely, correctly and conveniently give way to oncoming traffic? Common occurrence in my experience. Education opportunity. Missed.
@NowtbutaLad@railnigel Interesting pic - N of Ormskirk Station, showing the curve line incoming from the now dismantled line towards Skem? Multiple lines (sidings?) on the now car park.
@bolderston_mark My first car! A Peco big bore exhaust, fat radials to replace the cross ply tyres and a load of climbing/camping gear in the front boot meant it went and handled pretty well on the back roads of N Wales and Cumbria. More refined than Minis of the era.
@100Climbs Had the same problem. Covered grass in chicken netting on bricks. Cat still got to its spot and pooped. Only thing that stopped was a Canadian automatic water jetter controlled by a movement sensor. It got the postman too.
@adrianfclarke Once had one with the old Fiesta 1.3 engine, utterly gutless. By way of balance in later years I had a 1.8 petrol that absolutely flew, strangely potent .....
@SaferRoadsYorks@BigMonJohn In my experience many drivers lack either. And the high blunt fronts of these vehicles are as good as battering rams. Worrying combo.
@CitizenUddin @al_eye_am That's the new "close pass". Happens all the time. Most overtaking drivers are considerate now but oncoming?? I wonder what they're thinking (they probably aren't). Do oncoming cyclists somehow not count?
