In terms of the unacceptable and critical gaps in our ability to prevent intimate partner of violence in Indigenous communities, my charity Jilya applied for funding to address all of it; as well as develop the first culturally and clinically informed prevention program into high risk remote Communities and surprise surprise we missed out on the funding.
This also included me donating all of my intellectual property and time for free
And all we hear about is this so-called “Aboriginal gravy train” of funding- well clearly the train didn’t get my address.
We are now looking to pitch to philanthropic and other interested orgs to develop this vital program.
