Don’t punish and scapegoat children and families for a broken immigration system that is the fault of inaction, inertia, and indifference on the part of the federal government going back decades.

This harmful decision is on top of the administration’s serious consideration of also revoking the legal status of thousands of Ukrainian refugees.

In addition to the harm this poses to families and communities, this also poses harm to our local economy and social services, including schools where funding for teachers and critical programs is directly tied to enrollment.

Fixing a broken system does not and must not require harming children, families, and communities. We are better than this.

Nothing in the constitution says POTUS can stop paying bills on grants that fund health, schools, and public safety (including, dear friends at the ADL, in synagogues).

If Trump blocks funds Congress allocated, and SCOTUS lets him, this is the dictatorship we were warned about.
