He implanted the idea that voice actors should match the ethnicity of the character they are playing, heavily affecting casting for many people.

The joy of voice acting is that it doesn’t matter what sex or ethnicity you are, if you can provide a strong performance on screen then that’s enough.

We have several examples of woman voicing male characters. White VAs playing black characters. So on and so forth. The point is… voice acting is a case of talent of the voice actor, not tied to their race, ethnicity, sex, etc.
