The way this platform hits me with 1-4 'suggested' notifications when I rarely glance at it makes me want to use it less, not more.
I don't expect people to reach out on a platform I don't really exist on, but the fake notifications feel particularly desperate and insulting.
The longer I exist in social gaming spaces, the more I've come to understand that a large chunk of negativity stems from wanting to have a reaction/opinion to something as soon as it drops.
People don't learn fights anymore. People don't let themselves process a game these days.
All those snide remarks I wrote off as just being awkward? All the condescending, passive aggression? It's re-contextualized once you actually play your hand - and you're not entitled to me sticking around to take it.
People seldom understand that I notice patterns of behavior over time, but try to dismiss them due to my own fear of overreacting. When I 'suddenly' remove someone from my life, it's because of one clarifying action that made it 100% clear my intuition was correct after all.
@luckyghoulx My favorite Pokemon has once again fallen into favor simply because he's got an ability to exploit and not because he's just a really cool snake.๐ญ
God, it's exhausting watching us over-analyze, deconstruct, & catastrophize every little detail of MH Wilds.
We're really dying on the hill of "getting launched into the air is good actually"? ๐ง
Hot Take: "Pretending" to be an asshole in content creation isn't a free pass. You're still responsible for having an impact on your community, and they can be pretty impressionable. Every "dick as a joke" personality creates actual twats.
@MH_Now_EN Pretty cool update. Wouldn't really cool the Palico changes new 'features' - it's just basic customization, and frankly something I'm shocked wasn't in the game at launch, but it's a positive introduction all the same.
I see this bloke on Reddit all the time. He's been banned from at least two MH communities for being extremely volatile & rude.
I don't think people who spend their free time trying to tear down everyone they come into contact with can speak about empathy or integrity, tbh. ๐ง

@clyde_strife I agree, I don't see it as particularly problematic and am only bringing it up because it accentuates my appreciation. These guides don't benefit me, yet I still find myself stepping back and admiring all the effort that went into them.
@bluepointgames I'm glad to see DeS getting some love & refreshing, but I'm disappointed that character management (deleting, for example) still isn't a consideration.
The inability to abandon a character if I'm not feeling a run has discouraged me from replaying tbh.
@BannedDino The controls are really awkward and difficult to get used to at first, but once you do it feels very natural and fun to traverse on. I like how it genuinely feels like you're riding an actual animal - there's just a little bit fight and personality but not enough to ruin the feel
@verytragic I'm guessing this is 'just' the balance patch you've been teasing, but I'm so ready for that. I've been putting off the latest DLC until it drops, so I've been pretty impatient over here. ๐
