It’s been just over one week since the official launch of Halloween: The Game, and we can't thank you enough for your excitement, passion, and thoughtful feedback.
We built our asymmetrical horror sandbox with this passionate, engaged community in mind, and we wanted to take a moment to acknowledge some of the issues players have been experiencing, provide status updates on fixes, and briefly discuss what’s coming up next for Halloween: The Game.

One week ago, we welcomed players to Haddonfield with the official launch of Halloween: The Game.
Since then, you've all been incredibly busy saving and slaying the residents of this once quiet, peaceful town.
Michael Myers' body count has already reached over 90 million confirmed kills across all modes, but brave Civilians have managed to protect over 13 million lives.
Earlier this week, we welcomed players from around the world to the haunting town of Haddonfield with our official launch.
Today, we are thrilled to announce that over 1 million players have experienced the horror of Michael Myers in Halloween: The Game.
@babyarcher69@justfanci “The same people” okay. I said dbd comp teams. Not every Halloween player plays dbd and not every dbd player plays Halloween. Reading is essential. And I don’t mind it at all actually
Once again the same thing that killed off players in TCM because you could perma stun family has now made it’s way to Halloween because of dbd comp players who actively search for broken strats to ruin a casual game and new players experiences.
Detaining michael in 2:08, our games are 4 minutes average. It is crazy how easy it is to detain as a full squad (hourglass isnt even needed if players can hit their skillchecks its just better for safety) We have done this like 100 times (dont laugh at my skillcheck)
@kha_evee I think it’s either luck or knowledge if hes killing off 2 specials in under 3 minutes, but civilians already have a map showing where the specials are. If your team doesnt prioritize them first and hide them then you can’t blame Michael for finding and killing them
@BeltonCarlo Op said him and his team did it to both newbie and experienced michaels, but he only showed a clip of what looks to be like a newer Michael. Whether what he said is true or not still doesnt change the point I made.
@RhodGuard If you still don’t understand what my point is then that’s on you because what I said can be easily understood. You just have a problem with me pointing out the fact that when you see these exploits, it’s common from sweaty dbd teams.
@RhodGuard Dbd comp teams are notorious for doing this, and guess what? op and his team are dbd comp because he said it in his replies. I already know that anyone can do this but I’m pointing out a specific group of people who do this in every asym game that drops
@kuuroo_o Oh okay so I just forgot to tag Illfonic, got it. That doesn’t change anything I said. The op has thousands of views so they will see it, I’m just discussing the problem further.
@justfanci Exactly, these types of players spend all their time finding exploits and abusive mechanics which will force drastic gameplay changes overtime and once they can’t find anything else to abuse they jump ship and go back to dbd.
@kuuroo_o No. The dev team said they intended for Halloween to lean more casual and accommodate casual players mostly, and leave some room for experienced players for strategic gameplay.
By the way, this is completely counterable and usually experienced Michael players will know how to get out of these situations and not allow themselves to even be put in that position in the first place. This is just straight up bullying casuals and newbies.
