46 years - to the day - after Grateful Dead played their historic 5/8/77 concert at Cornell University’s Barton Hall, Dead & Company returned to the very same auditorium to play a charity benefit concert. The word “honor” doesn’t begin to describe the feeling I have after playing this show; I’ve always said that if I’m doing my job right, I bring the crowd closer to the music they love while disappearing from the equation a little. I lay zero claim to something this pivotal and meaningful in the band’s 50+ year history. I’m just happy to get to be the one to help shuttle people to their happiest places… 5/8/23 is now a date I will never forget. It was around $520 for both of ours! And we got premium parking included for free!
But tbh anywhere in that amphitheater is an amazing sound and view!!
