The federal government is moving to take over the California National Guard and deploy 2,000 soldiers. That move is purposefully inflammatory and will only escalate tensions.

LA authorities are able to access law enforcement assistance at a moment’s notice. We are in close coordination with the city and county, and there is currently no unmet need.

The Guard has been admirably serving LA throughout recovery.

This is the wrong mission and will erode public trust.

Yesterday a couple was walking to synagogue in our city. Our beloved resident, a 75 years old man was struck with a belt on his head and called out as a ‘Jew’. The @BeverlyHillsPD & @CityofBHFire immediately responded and has this despicable hater in custody. After cleaning his bloody head wounds, changing his shirt, our beloved resident WENT to synagogue. We MUST STOP this alarming Jew hatred. When anyone says HATE SPEECH doesn’t lead to violence, HERE IS YOUR PROOF #Antisemitism
