History keeps binding Goa in timely narratives of the most fondest relations and memories, this one through football.

Cabo Verde, shaped by Portuguese colonialism like Goa had cultural references left behind. Names, faith, music and the everyday life has resemblance.

Fr Caetano Pimenta Pereira had been a long-standing tie between Goa and other Portuguese speaking communities, helping foster relations between continents. This went onto reminding me of a personal connection my dad recited a few days back.

My paternal grandmother’s brother, ‘Ti Aluisio’ also served as a priest in Cape Verde before later moving to Brazil, where he eventually settled and still lives healthily.

It’s remarkable to think much commonalities can be linked between Goa and Cape Verde. Football often tells stories bigger than results - a beautiful bridge between worlds.

Getting Maximo Perrone in Summer would be so, so good.

A proper Spalletti-mould of a player as well, I'd make him more of a 'priority signing' than Sandro Tonali, especially when you take the cost-effectiveness of the two deals in question.
