Offense is the best defense, in this case defending the indefensible. She saw the backlash and reconsidered her politically correct approach to the foul. Any imbecile could see in real time that the player was trying to take her head off. Falling back on the “I hadn’t seen the replay” is all you need to hear to see through this charade.
Since when did protecting your property rights become bullying? Trademark infringement is everywhere in all businesses. The corollary here is while this one small business means little at all at this point, unless they defend their property rights here then it will slowly erode the value of the logo when other businesses do the same.
@PolitiBunny@jonfavs He’s on his team. Also, by not using a prominent liberal podcast to discuss the incongruity, he’s basically signaling that no media will challenge this.
@mattvanswol@MattWalshBlog@sircalebhammer Deportation doesn’t solve affordability. You could deport every illegal alien and if Congress keeps printing money and spending like there is no tomorrow(there might not be, given the trajectory) then nothing will change. If fact it will get worse-much, much worse.
@christopherrufo Corrupt and cowardly politicians= bad government policy=a cost of living disaster=$20 burritos. And obtuse journalists that can’t math this and just want to “free markets” it are just lazy idiots.
It’s an offensive player foul. The opposing player, in this case Sophie, has a right to claimed territory just like in a charging call as long as she is stationary. She was. This is above the shoulders charging. You could make the case that there was body contact at the waist but the officials didn’t make a call based on that.
@HubieFoster@BleacherReport@AdamSchefter He has a very public, high visibility job with a major news organization. Of course he’s going to be treated differently than the average guy. Which begs the question, why on earth would he make such a terrible decision to drink and drive?
@JonahDispatch A distinction without a difference. They are taking the quickest and safest route to Spain. This to take advantage of the asylum given to hundreds of thousands by the Spanish government. But of course you know this.
@sanchezcastejon “All resources of the state to guarantee security and coexistence”. He has no intention of repelling or deporting the invaders. He is saying he wants them to assimilate. Contemptible.
You can’t attribute rational thought processes to criminals. It’s the same whether you’re talking about an individual or a criminally corrupt government. Add in the disconnect between western values and non-western values and this is the recipe for their cognitive dissonance. Unfortunately, this won’t change. All we can do is be aware of this reality.
@EricLDaugh Drain it, leave an empty husk, then forget about it. The same as a squatter would do after getting evicted. Only low lifes operate this way, a perfect metaphor for the Biden administration.
There are some interesting views with your post. The ones that I will take away is the dearth of the servant-leadership ethos that no longer seems to exist in these two western democracies. The second is that the aristocracies in Europe have been replaced by the bureaucratic state. A full, expatiated version of your points would seem to have the makings of a good book.
No shot-blocker in the history of basketball has ever raked their hand down to the head of a player(see, the basketball is literally 2 feet away from their head) unless they wanted to injure or prevent the player from seeing the basket. Contact to the face is a foul. If deemed to be done on purpose(it was) then it is a FLAGRANT foul. People defending this no-call are trolls or suffer from low IQitis.
