Let me do a breakdown of Enzo Maresca's coaching career

Enzo Maresca after retiring in 2017, quickly moved into coaching.

He was assistant manager at Serie B side, Ascoli in 2017 under Fulvio Fiorin.

He moved to become assistant Manager at Sevilla in 2017/2018 season under Vincenzo Montella

In the 2018/2019 season, Manuel Pellegrini personally requested Enzo Maresca to be his assistant coach at West Ham United in the 2018/2019

In case you don't know, the biggest impact on Maresca's career is Manuel Pellegrini. I will still get there, let me complete Maresca's coaching career cycle

After Pellegrini was sacked in 2019, Maresca left despite being offered West Ham's job. He declined their offer because of a particular reason.

In 2020, Manchester City hired him as the manager of the Elite Development Squad. After a season, he left and moved to Parma

In 2022, he returned as Pep's assistant coach. In 2023, he was appointed by Leicester City and the rest is history....

Do you think Maresca was playing with his life when he moved into coaching immediately in 2017 after retirement?

Let's get back to Pellegrini's influence on Maresca

Enzo Maresca and Manuel Pellegrini share a deeply close mentor-protégé relationship, often described by Maresca as a "footballing father" bond.

Their connection spans back to 2011 when Pellegrini signed Maresca as a player at Málaga and later hired him as his assistant coach at West Ham.

Pellegrini was the first person who convinced Maresca to pursue a career in coaching.

When Pellegrini was sacked in 2019 by West Ham United, Maresca had to leave despite West Ham offering him the job

He turned it down because, he can't take his mentor's job after he was sacked
