a girl on tik tok just said “I would rather adjust my life to your absence, than adjust my boundaries to accommodate your disrespect” and I think that a lot of people need to take that and really engrave it into their soul.
ADHDers often forget their symptoms amidst action.
When you tell me 8 things to remember, I think I can. When I say I'll do that chore later, I believe it.
Knowing symptoms isn't always enough for me to admit when I need help.
My 10 favorite ADHD tweets/threads of the week:
some of y’all, all politics aside, are just mean. y’all are mean and cruel individuals and it doesn’t make you funny or sexy or mysterious or hot like you think it does. and if you are like this, i hope one day maybe you will realize it
There's a discussion happening on TikTok about the overlaps between ADHD and autism again.
I have thoughts, so let's talk about it.
ADHD and autism overlaps:
A thread where I break the cardinal rule of the Internet (1/🧵)
Executive dysfunction, a core feature of ADHD, is far more than not being able to get started on tasks.
It is any weakness in one (or more) of a broad set of mental skills including working memory, flexible thinking, starting/switching tasks, impulse control and self-regulation
I think every woman has opened the door to a maintenance man, delivery man, security guard, hell even police man and had a, “this could go badly” thought. Not even safe in our own homes.
I really don’t know who needs to hear this right now… but stay focused. you’re doing such a good job, even if you don’t feel like you are or you feel like you aren’t getting anywhere. don’t focus on where you used to be. focus only on excelling and moving forward. keep going.
@AdultingADHD TIMEBOXING - it is so easy to hyper focus on an issue and waste hours of frustration. Reach out for help, and learn from the help you’re given for next time!
@AdultingADHD Since learning more about clean/onion architecture, domain driven design, and SOLID principles it has helped me break down my work into smaller pieces of work. I make mental (or sometimes actual) lists of which files I’ll need to write/edit to help me visualize and stay on track.
@AdultingADHD Being on a team where others want me to succeed, people to lean on when I have questions, and a general culture of fail forward has really helped too. Code reviews to help me recognize patterns and good coding practices too. These things help me gut check while I’m working.
Several years ago, a neighbor kid kicked a football and shattered a small basement window. We were a family of six living on a teacher's salary at the time, so I boarded it up, thinking I'd get to it someday. The frame was rusted shut. I couldn't fix it.

@deafmade_audio @the_tweedy I got diagnosed with several “rare” or just extremely uncommon symptoms for my age in general. It’s frustrating when doctors shrug their shoulders or guess instead of doing the tests/work to get to a diagnosis. “Spontaneous hives” being one of them.
