@LiquidEffer@Noctua_at It could work, though it would need to be their industrial fans just in case it starts raining and you do not get to the fan in time.
@tekwendell The 253 watts default will ensure that the CPU never runs into a situation where it throttling due to it otherwise being limited to 35 watts. It will also ensure that users get the best possible multithreaded performance from the CPU while it is on its stock clock speeds.
@marietweetss@LAPDWilshire@LAPDRodriguez There are many options, though some of the most popular non-cloud reliant ones are Reolink, and Ubiquiti. A PoE camera and NVR system allows for better quality (no need for heavy handed compression if recording locally).
@mooreslawisdead@HardwareUnboxed Nvidia's decision to use 8GB for so long is a huge issue, there are many games where a card like the RTX 3070 has the compute performance to handle higher settings, but is held back by a lack of VRAM. 12GB is also starting to have issues with max settings + RT.
@eevblog One challenge will be handling high humidity where condensation is possible, especially during large temperature swings. How well sealed are areas such as the LCD display and other components that can risk internal condensation?
@FanlessTech Can they do a version of that setup but with all of the 3000+ RPM 140mm industrial fans instead, they provide significantly more airflow at the cost of significantly higher noise levels?
@eevblog Best to set up a home theater and wait for the movies to be available on streaming. Theater price gouging is reaching astronomically insane levels, for what is often a worse experience compared to watching at home.
@Ascii211 I wish the prices would come down, the current market seems to be based on a super high margin but low volume, when really there is likely a vastly larger market that will allow for vastly improved volume at lower prices.
@YinzGotOwned@ReimuNotMoe The older methods were keeping the SOC in its highest performance state regardless of activity, and the transmitter constantly at its highest rate (no duty cycling), which made them insanely inefficient.
@YinzGotOwned@ReimuNotMoe Yep, their newer high end wireless mice, under their marketing name "Lightspeed" basically brought back the ~1ms latency while being able to maintain very good battery life, effectively the best of both worlds. Basically just a slight delay from power states, then low latency.
@ReimuNotMoe The main issue is that what people settled on back then was that to get that unnoticeable latency difference (under 1ms), people considered it diminishing returns, When a bit higher latency meant weeks on a single charge.
@ReimuNotMoe Some wireless gaming mice were able to deliver good latency, e.g., For older models, the Logitech G700 (and G700s) (if you are okay with 6 hour battery life), the performance mode had no noticeable difference between wired and wireless. Newer models manage it with better runtime.
@eevblog Are you planning on watching any new anime series that are being released next week? (lots of major anime studios release new shows a little after the start of each new season)
