Professor of Design at USF: Sustainability, Systems Thinking, Community Engaged Learning, Activism. Editor: Routledge Handbook of Sustainable Design. (she/her)
A nice surprise, my book the @RoutledgeSust Handbook of Sustainable Design is available in a (much cheaper) paperback. Can’t think of a better time to encourage students to read about systems, behaviors and structural change. (1/2)

Can’t decide if this is a design fail or critical commentary @nytimes - literally selling “cold beer beautiful girls” next to spending one’s life fighting for the right to her body in pursuit of a career. Protect Roe. Empower Women.
@KQEDForum@alexismadrigal@sahotchkiss As a proud art school alum and believer in the liberal arts who has championed the Arts @usfca for 13 years I’m thrilled with this announcement. Looking forward to building a power house of Art + Social Justice + Community Engaged Learning .

Finally had some time to take a breath and untangle some thoughts from my head. Maybe you too are interested in being part of something bigger than yourself and bigger than where you are? Either way, enjoy this little video.

Some thoughts on remote/pandemic/crisis teaching, and what I'll keep doing in #HigherEd.
The three most important words of the semester: How are you? https://t.co/8Ev9HyGJU9
Super proud of my @usfca Design Grads for completing their senior year entirely over Zoom. Here's their exhibition, cleverly named "you/rl" - 30 thesis projects taking on real world issues in many forms.

The emotional toll of the pandemic has left many with a sense of stagnation and emptiness.
That feeling of muddling through your days, lacking motivation and struggling to focus has a name, writes the organizational psychologist Adam Grant: languishing.

@DrKWilkinson Great list in this thread. Ellen MacArthur Foundation @circulareconomy has some good resources for students. As for assignments - I have students pitch proposals to CE implementation on campus, it's something that's "real" to them.
Happy to host @chronictanvi from @BipocDesign as a guest speaker in my class today. Students were inspired to hear real, honest stories of making connections from someone just a few years a head of them. (And also love supporting a fellow @mica alum.)
Getting ready for more Zoom Conferences at #CAA2021; on Thursday I'm talking about #SustainableDesign & #SystemsThinking; then on Friday its #CrisisTeaching... (but still really missing the travel, friends & drinks)
