Bombay Bites HCM, a restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, said an Indian family damaged property and threatened staff after being asked to stop their children from throwing items.
The restaurant said the June 30 incident prompted a call for civic sense and responsible behaviour while representing India abroad.
Kemar Roach was born stubborn.
At 5'8" he should have been a batter or maybe a spinner. In Caribbean, fast bowlers are supposed to look like they fell out of a coconut tree & kept growing. Roach just ran in faster than physics suggested he should.
In 2009, when senior players went on strike. West Indies had to pick a 2nd string side against Bangladesh with 9 debutants. Roach took 13 wickets in 2 matches. When big names came back, he was the only one they kept.
Then came WACA, December 2009. He hit Ricky Ponting in ribs, then elbow. almost 150 kmph. Ponting's forearm went into spasm. He could not hold the bat. He walked off the field, embarrassed, for first time in a long career. Roach dismissed him in 2nd innings immediately. He got Ponting out 5 times in 6 Tests.
But speed kills the bowler too. By 2013 his shoulder was gone. Surgery in Jamaica.then car crash. Rain on a Bridgetown road & his BMW flipped multiple times. He walked away with a cut on his head. his shoulder though never came back the same. In Australia 2015 he took no wickets in 3 Tests. Dropped & forgktten. His pace had dropped from 88 miles per hour to 80. At that speed, at that height, you are supposed to disappear.
Instead he rebuilt everything. His action, angle, his mind. He became a seam surgeon. Round the wicket to left handers. A front leg brace. Late swing. Since 2018 he has taken 153 wickets at 24.34 average & 48.9 strike rate. Only Bumrah, Cummins & Rabada have taken more wickets than him with better average & strike rate. Mind You, Roach turned 30 years in 2018 itself.
In 2021 Surrey signed him. He took 97 wickets for them. Surrey won 3 consecutive County Championships.
West Indies dropped him again in 2025. Director of cricket wanted youth. Then injury crisis in New Zealand & they called him back. He batted for 233 balls for 58* in almost 5 hours to save a Test.
Then yesterday at Antigua, he bowled Asitha Fernando & became first West Indian to 300 Test wickets since Curtly Ambrose in 1997. 29 years between them. His teammates mobbed him. A shirt with 300 on the back.
West Indies cricket is supposed to be about pairs & quartets. Walsh-Ambrose & Marshall-Holding. Roach did it alone. 161 Test innings & 2590 overs without anyone truly sharing the load. And still he got there.
Ok Bangalore Twitter need help.
My cousin is undergoing cancer treatment at HCG (near Mission Road).
He needs blood donations and we have exhausted our family members.
If anyone is willing to donate please ping me - I will share details. Any blood group is fine - the hospital just needs replacement.
(Please RT for karma. We need as much blood as possible)

No IIT. No IIM.
His CV wouldn't have made it past the Indian corporate HR system :)
The West bets on builders, while Indian corporates still rely on IIT/IIM badges.
1/n | FRESH ENCROACHMENT & TREE FELLING IN PATTANDUR AGRAHARA LAKE Sy 54 in WHITEFIELD?
a) According to public bystanders, people claiming to be from Puravankara Group, and employees of CMG Security, belonging to serving minister KJ George, were caught them red-handed felling fully grown trees on a Govt Land, without permission. They were ordered to stop felling and investigation is in progress, according to DCF GBA.
b) Lake land background: While the encroachment of 11 acres of the property is a matter sub-judice in an ongoing High Court case, this portion of around 2 acres (south east), is un-encroached land as per the Govt encroachment report - ie., it is undisputed Govt property. (Pls see pic of govt report sketch attached)
c) Are these people trespassing and cutting trees in the Govt land?
Real estate mafia #encroachment101?
d) Further, in the disputed portions of Sy 54, a lot of tree felling has occurred along the periphery of the land parcel, without permission from Forest Dept, in the past few weeks.
e) We demand that the BECC Commissioner and GBA Chief Commissioner, immediately take action to secure and protect this Govt lake land, which needs to be restored into a lake. @BECCUPDATES@GBAChiefComm@GBA_office@CMofKarnataka
f) We demand that the GBA Forest Cell take action against the perpetrators / custodian of the land, who have cut many trees along the periphery of the entire Sy 54, without tree-felling permission. @aranya_kfd

Modi completes 12 years today.
Everyone's giving opinions.
Let me give you numbers.
2014 vs 2026 👇
INDIA ON THE WORLD STAGE
GDP Rank: 11th → 6th (PPP: 3rd) GDP Size: ~$2 trillion → $4.15 trillion Economy grew 2x in 12 years.
That is real. That deserves credit.
But, your wallet?
Petrol → ₹110/litre
Rupee vs Dollar→ ₹96/$
So while the economy doubled in size, your purchasing power against the dollar dropped by half.
THE MIDDLE CLASS REALITY
Household debt as % of GDP: Rising steadily
FPI outflows in 2 years: ₹4 trillion pulled out
Sensex: Back to pandemic-era valuations
UPI transactions: 18 billion/month
Airports built/expanded: 70+
Jan Dhan accounts: 53 crore
India as a middle-class household, working harder, paying more, saving less, and hoping the compounding story plays out before retirement.
Both things are true.
Anyone who tells you it's only one or the other is selling you something. We're a work in progress. The best kind. 🇮🇳
5,000 mein yaha ghar kaise lu sir?
Yesterday afternoon, after the badminton session, a couple of us were sitting and having electrolytes. Conversation somehow moved towards our society security guards… why they keep changing so frequently, how difficult summers must be for them, and how at least we should provide proper shade.
One of my friends then shared something from his time in Mumbai.
One afternoon in their society, they noticed a security guard taking a nap during duty hours. Him and his friend casually woke him up and asked, “Bhai, duty time mein so rahe ho?”
The guard immediately got scared and said, “Sorry sir, dobara nahi hoga.”
But instead of getting angry, they just spoke to him normally. Asked him if he wanted water because it was extremely hot outside. Slowly the conversation opened up.
They asked where he lived, how he managed, how much he earned.
He said: “Society 8,000 deti hai sir… contractor cut ke mere haath mein 5,000 aata hai.”
Then he smiled awkwardly and said: “5,000 mein yaha ghar kaise lu sir?” He wasn’t even renting a room.
He said he worked two security shifts in different places. Sometimes he just stayed around the guard rooms, slept for a couple of hours wherever possible. He had only two pairs of clothes. Every morning he would wash one pair near a public tap, rush to a crowded public washroom before morning crowds built up, freshen up there and come back to work again.
My friend said they were completely shocked listening to this.
Then they asked him: “Summers mein kaise manage karte ho?”
He lifted his shirt. His entire back was filled with boils because of the heat. Honestly… that part stayed with me.
Most of the debate online whether 2 lakh/month or 3 lakh/month is enough to survive in cities like Mumbai or Pune.
But the ground reality for a huge section of people is completely different. For many, life is not about wealth creation, investing, vacations or work-life balance.
It is simply survival.
Sometimes we forget the invisible people who keep our lives running smoothly security guards, housekeeping staff, delivery workers, drivers.
This summer has been brutal.
If possible, let’s be a little more patient, a little kinder and a little more supportive towards the people around us. Small gestures matter more than we think.
Alastair Cook has absolutely NO IDEA what it's like to be in the IPL. What's it's like to always be around the best players in the world.
So his opinion on Jacob Bethell doesn't matter at all.
Stay in India, Jacob. I know, even though you're not playing, you're learning and will be a way better player. 👍🏻

This Ireland chase in 2011 WC isn't just iconic—it's straight-up legendary and belongs in the GOAT conversation for ODI run chases. Here's why:
Ireland were massive underdogs against a powerhouse England side (Trott 92, Bell 81, Pietersen 59 → 327/8). At 111/5, the game was dead. Then Kevin O'Brien unleashed hell: explosive 113 off 63 balls (13 fours, 6 sixes), smashing the fastest World Cup century ever in just 50 balls (beating Hayden's 66-ball record by miles).
That 162-run 6th-wicket stand with Alex Cusack turned impossible into inevitable. They chased 328 with 3 wickets & 5 balls to spare — the highest successful WC chase at the time. Pure fairy-tale upset, giant-killing at its finest. Ireland stunned the cricket world!
He fielded 50 overs and then batted for nearly 50 and still wanted to run 2 in the 95th over of the game. All this at the age of 37. Truly one of a kind.
Pathetic!

Indian stock exchanges are closed today for Mumbai's municipal elections.
The fact that our exchanges, which have international linkages, are shut down for a local municipal election shows poor planning and a serious lack of appreciation for second-order effects.
As Munger said: "Show me the incentive, and I will show you the outcome."
The holiday exists because no one who matters has any incentive to oppose the market holiday.
It also tells you how far we have to go before global investors take us seriously.
