A man who filmed himself setting a “lurcher-type dog” on a live rabbit and kicking the animal as it tried to escape has been jailed for 6 months after posting the footage on social media.

Billy Banks from Poole posted a video into an open hare coursing group on Facebook.

The video shows the defendant pull a live rabbit out of a bag at Broadstone recreation ground, before setting a young lurcher-type dog on it.
