On June 1, 2011, John A. Valenza, DDS ’81, was appointed dean of UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry after serving as interim dean for two years. As he prepares to retire on Aug. 31, we honor his years of leadership and decades of service on faculty.

#FlashbackFriday to 2026 inductee Bob Punter!
The legendary @AthleticsValpo coach stopped by this week to drop off memorabilia for his personalized HOF display 👔🏀
In 18 seasons at Valpo, Punter led the Vikings to a 302-117 record, 9 sectional titles, 2 regionals, a semi state championship & a 1994 state runner-up finish. He coached 4 Indiana All-Stars, including 1994 Mr. Basketball Bryce Drew & Purdue standout Robbie Hummel.
Join us March 18 at the 2026 Induction Banquet to celebrate Coach Punter & the rest of this outstanding class! 🎟️ https://t.co/bxgoCZJ3Ir
With just a second left, Hailey Markworth (@HaileyMarkworth) backs down a defender and gets the and-1 fadeaway from the high block to gives @WinonaStateWBB the early NSIC win yesterday and beat #16 Concordia St. Paul 77-75!
Thanks to the generosity of Jan Sievers ‘59 Schrage and Paul Schrage ‘57, the @ValpoBasketball program has received a significant boost to its recruiting and retention efforts. The couple has committed $1 million to establish the Paul D. and Janet C. Schrage Basketball Excellence Fund.
