📢 PUBLIC ADVISORY (July 2, 2026) - Happy Valley-Goose Bay RCMP is advising that residents will see an increased and ongoing police presence near the water in the Hamilton River Road and Markland Road area.
This increased presence is in response to the discovery of a possible military munition in the water. The scene has been secured and it will be continuously monitored until experts with the Canadian Armed Forces arrive to assess and dispose of the item.
There is no risk to public safety at this time. However, members of the public are asked to stay away from the area and cooperate will all directions from police and other authorities.
We were proud to participate in Memorial Day and Canada Day celebrations in communities across the province!
Each year, officers, employees and RCMP veterans stand alongside our fellow Newfoundlanders and Labradorians as we celebrate our history, culture and communities.
Thank you to everyone who welcomed us into your celebrations. We hope you had a safe and memorable holiday!
Meet our newest mini-Mountie, Jack, proudly cruising in his very own police car alongside the real deal! 🚓
Jack’s dad, Constable Miller, serves with Whitbourne RCMP, and it looks like Jack is already following in his footsteps.
Moments like this remind us that being an RCMP officer in Newfoundland and Labrador is about more than policing—it’s about being part of a community where officers and their families live, work and belong.
Thank you to the Miller family for sharing this special moment with us. We love seeing our RCMP family grow!
