BREAKING: Golden Gate Fields is shutting down!

DxE activists have been calling for this deadly horse racing track to shut down for years, holding vigil every time a horse is killed, protesting dozens of times, speaking at city council meetings, and working on a ballot measure. In 2021, activists even bravely locked down on the track in an act of civil disobedience to raise awareness about the cruelty of the horse racing industry. Now they're finally leaving town.

Golden Gate Fields claims that activists played no role in this decision. That's what the corporations always say. But we know the truth. Direct action gets the goods!

BREAKING: DxE activist @curtis_v0llmar was just found GUILTY of "criminal trespass" and "disorderly conduct" for simply leafletting about Smithfield Foods at a park in Beaver, Utah.

The Judge, Shadrach Bradshaw, is a retired dairy farmer who never went to law school, and Smithfield is the largest employer in Beaver County. Curtis will be appealing and having another trial. He has also filed a federal civil rights lawsuit alleging that Beaver police violated his First Amendment right to free speech. This is a political prosecution and another example of Smithfield weaponizing the cops, the courts, and the legislature to silence critics and shield its practices from the public.

“We published this video within an hour with both my name and Alicia Santurios name attached to it because we believe what we’re doing is legal and morally right. We’re rescuing sick chickens from a factory farm that has a history of abusing them."

"We have a lot of people who believe there should be a a right to rescue injured chickens," explained Paul. "We believe that Foster Farms should not get away with hiding how they treat animals." -

Did you know: At least 16 workers died after contracting COVID-19 in @FosterFarms facilities. OSHA fined them nearly $200,000 for at least 14 total COVID-19 violations incl. failure to timely report work-related fatalities. Foster Farms exploits workers and animals.

@fmanjoo @nytopinion Why do we keep our heads in the sand about such grotesque violence to sentient beings? Thank you for bringing these horrors to light!

I wrote about animal welfare and the right to rescue animals from inhumane factory farms.

And about how vegans are right. (I’m not a vegan.)

But on the incomprehensible cruelty of industrial farming? They’re so, so right.
