@venkat_fin9 This is bound to happen more and more. Judicial reforms are a screaming need in this country and judges must be accountable and answerable as to their throughput and efficiency of handling cases.
@AbhishBanerj They are trying to find meaning to their own lives. They have no direction and nothing except hate to cling on to. Ask them what will they achieve and they will be clueless.
@ARanganathan72 They created the system and it still works for them. Judicial reforms have to be the top priority. It’s doing more harm than what people believe. It makes the law enforcement toothless and corrupt.
@ARanganathan72 Why is it so easy in India to hit someone?! Particularly when it comes to police or IAS or politicians. Also road rage is normalised and how. Something seriously wrong with our laws and its enforcement.
@BesuraTaansane@nitin_gadkari Confidence is good. Delusion is not. Instead of doubling down on your stand on E20 just offer an option to the people. Being dogmatic will not benefit you.
@venkat_fin9 The entire system is build on zero trust. While it has its pros and cons, the real win would be to come up with transparent and efficient systems. Make technology the cornerstone of ease of doing business rather than burdening small businesses with more and more compliance
@GulPanag The only way to get over a traumatic past is to build a great future. Punjab deserves attention and development that has been elusive for many decades. When people thrive they learn from history, but when they don’t they use history to justify vendetta.
@venkat_fin9 Agree. A 100 scheme’s rolled out with no ownership. Banks find excuses to refuse. Middle men extort money to get the same work done by bribing the same bank officials.
@amitmalviya Not a political issue. This is an issue about the rights of a consumer. We deserve optionality after paying income tax, tax on vehicle purchase, road tax and then tax on fuel. The least govt can do is give options to the consumer and make E20 cheaper than other options.
@malpani First you want roads. When they do you a favor by making them, you complain about the potholes. Anti national tag coming soon 😂. BTW last date for filing taxes is….
@sapnamadan Why is the communication almost always reactive? Why can’t a campaign be run to seek confidence of the people before arbitrarily implementing a policy which affects citizens the most. More over why does it have to be mandated and not given as an option with a clear price benefit?
@BefittingFacts Should all this have been shared and communicated before the arbitrary mandate? Let the OEM release a guarantee stating the same and that they will cover all expenses of repair if any vehicle needs it.
@JaipurDialogues It will need him to focus on his portfolio and not create a new Ethanol Ministry. He should return to his past ways and become the infra man for India. He has lost focus
@tehseenp Let’s ask them to indemnify and make available all damages and repairs free of cost to all customers. Let’s see how this confidence holds up then. Also ask all insurance companies to cover E20 related damages by default. Let’s see everyone walk the talk.
E20 policy was a huge failure.
Not for the reason media told you.
Not for the reason social media told you.
It is deeper than that.
And more worrisome than you think.
Chemistry first.
E10 = 10% ethanol + 90% petrol.
E20 = 20% ethanol + 80% petrol.
Ethanol is alcohol from sugarcane, maize, rice.
It burns cleaner.
It is not the villain here.
Brazil started this in 1975.
Took five decades to mature its fleet.
The US moved to E10 over a generation.
India hit 20% blending by April 2025.
Six years ahead of its own target.
A sprint, where the world walked.
2021.
Niti Aayog.
Roadmap raised red flags.
Vehicles could lose 10-20% efficiency.
Written down.
Signed off.
Implemented anyway.
Now the numbers.
India's petrol fleet = ~17 crore.
Two-wheelers: ~15 crore.
Cars: ~2 crore.
Compliance cutoff: April 1, 2023.
Before, engines built for E10.
After, built for E20.
Pre-2023 two-wheelers = ~12.3 crore.
Pre-2023 cars = ~1.4 crore.
Vehicles actually affected = ~14 crore.
Total Vehicles in India = ~23 crore.
Media wants you picturing a burning nation.
The real number is precise.
Not a Disaster.
But still large.
14 crore is bigger than most countries on earth.
Now the part no press release mentioned.
E20-compliant means replacing:
Fuel lines.
Seals.
Gaskets.
Ethanol is hygroscopic.
It pulls water from air.
Water plus old rubber equals corrosion.
Not myth.
Material science.
Cost per car: ~₹10,000.
Cost per two-wheeler: ~₹5,000.
12.3 crore two-wheelers = ~₹55,000 crore.
1.4 crore cars = ~₹14,000 crore.
National retrofit bill = ~₹70,000 crore.
Here is where government failed.
1. Communication collapsed.
No ministry owned the message to 14 crore owners.
Petroleum Ministry.
Road Transport Ministry.
Information Broadcasting Ministry.
Three departments, zero coordination.
Silence dressed as arrongance.
That it's just 14 crore vehicle owners.
2. No budget was allocated.
A democracy that removes choice from citizens.
Owes those citizens the cost of that removal.
This bill should never reach a mechanic's counter.
It should reach the Finance Ministry.
Now, what the nation actually won.
Farmer income this year, from ethanol alone.
~₹40,000 crore.
Forex saved this year, crude we did not import.
~₹43,000 crore.
Combined gain, one year.
~₹83,000 crore.
Now the other number.
The one-time cost to make all 14 crore vehicles compliant.
~₹70,000 crore.
One year of the win pays the entire bill.
With margin left.
This was never a nation that could not afford fairness.
This was a nation that won.
And made it look like a failure.
Choosing energy independence is a sovereign act.
Every serious nation does it.
But why betray it's people due to irresponsible Beuraucrats?
A government that speaks of strength abroad.
Forgets to fund the strength at home.
Fund it fully.
Or subsidise it at 50%, minimum.
Not because science demands it.
Because democracy does.
14 crore Indians did not vote for this reform.
They are paying it anyway.
Who exactly was this convenience for?
