Decades in public life, and this is the vocabulary you bring to the stage, @kharge ? “Mohabbat ki dukaan” on the poster. “Modi ka baap” from the podium.
And spare us the performance in which every crude remark becomes “taken out of context”.
To my mind, Kharge’s outburst captures the gutter politics Congress has embraced under clown price Rahul Gandhi: preach love, but practise contempt, then send a spokesperson to explain why everyone misunderstood.
Kharge chose those words. He should have the courage to own them.
Sir it’s PENALTY, not PANELTY.
Also it’s MINISTER not MINSITER
Doesn’t speak very highly of AAP’s “education reforms” if their former minister has such atrocious spelling.
TWO ENTITIES. TWO SETS OF STANDARDS ON THE RIGHT TO PROTEST?
CJP MUST BE ALLOWED TO PROTEST IN DELHI, says Congress.
RSS MUST SEEK POLICE PERMISSION TO MARCH IN BENGALURU, says Congress minister Priyank Kharge.
Rahul Gandhi calls “all protests” citizens demanding constitutional rights. Kharge insists the RSS cannot merely inform the police but must take permission.
ONE CONSTITUTION. ONE RULE OF LAW. NO DOUBLE STANDARDS.
Congress has
🤦Zero women CM
🤦3 women ministers out of 178 ministers in states
🤦voting against delimitation bill
But according to Rahul baba RSS is anti women
HERE IS THE VOICE OF "FEARLESSNESS".
"I undertake and promise not to commit any breach of peace. Further it is also expressed that I have full faith in judiciary and all its instruments including the learned SEM Court. That we reiterate our undertaking and commitment towards peace, law and order, public tranquillity and further we specifically State that we will not make any calls for protest at Janta Manar till such a time that it is de-notified in accordance with Law. That we further reiterate that any protest undertaken would be done within the four corners of the Constitution."
Signed: Ranka and Das
😂😂😂 looks like @whattalawyer can’t go around shooting her mouth off about courts & SEM being “ordered from above”. If she doesn’t her beard will go back into custody.
Thank you @sardesairajdeep for your grudging endorsement of my stand. It is precisely because we have imbibed the traditional Bengali reverence for books that we are appalled. That is why the BJP defended the likes of Salman Rushdie (he got his visa back during the Vajpayee govt) & Taslima. This tradition of Hindu pluralism has guided us and not those who feign a liberal inheritance. Happy Vijayadashami.
Mahua, just eight months ago, you sent 13 policemen from Krishnanagar to arrest & intimidate me for quoting a tweet about u. Instructed them to create a nuisance in my neighbourhood to sully my image.
You slapped 12 non-bailable FIRs on me, which were quashed by the High Court
CJP story so far: 2 savarna patriarchists, misled & gaslighted an innocent young dalit man, to drop out of college. They then proceeded to treat him like a servant and ordered him around…and now he’s brainwashed into thinking servitude is freedom.
Mr Sardesai it is quite literally a Judge’s job to ask all sorts of questions to ascertain the truth - much like it is a journalist’s job to ask questions (I am sure you are familiar with that concept).
Justice Prasad did nothing wrong in asking questions about the petitioners who were before him. Age is a very important fact that conveys many things about a person - which is why even in news reports a persons age is usually always mentioned.
Besides, asking questions is an age old legal principle and practice, statutorily enshrined under Section 165 (now section 168 BSA) of the erstwhile Evidence Act, which empowers judges to ask questions that might even seem irrelevant to someone :
“The Judge may, in order to discover or to obtain proper proof of relevant facts, ask any question he pleases, in any form, at any time, of any witness, or of the parties about any fact relevant or irrelevant; and may order the production of any document or thing; and neither the parties nor their agents shall be entitled to make any objection to any such question or order…”
Hence as a criminal lawyer one is flabbergasted that the lawyers appearing for Mr Das and Mr Ranka rudely interrupted the judge and questioned the relevance of the question so posed, when - instead of simply answering the questions!
Not interrupting a judge needlessly is a basic custom of legal practice - but even from an advocacy perspective, why would you needlessly be rude to a judge who is simply trying to understand the contours of the facts before him!
Arguing in court doesn’t mean literally arguing with a judge or automatically assuming that the judge is hostile to your client - be humble and answer the judges questions first and thereafter make your legal submissions - strange that these elementary principles are being ignored.
Did you watch the proceeding? It was a side chat that had no impact on the judgement. Being in a news channel, I’m surprised you didn’t bother inspecting the primary source…. But nice try Rajdeep.
