A student's engagement with reading is an outcome of several conditions teachers create in classrooms:
- Voice and choice in what to read
- Access to high quality literature
- Time to read + support
- A community of readers
The common thread: Trusting and empowering readers
Great advice for instructional leaders:

"The quality of my life is significantly higher on days that I publish an article. The creative process and well-being go hand-in-hand."
-@JamesClear
I agree. Publishing writing of any length is a win, even if a post on social media. "Nothing succeeds like success."
@randhead I have to think professional growth/improvement is a core outcome of coaching. Evidence...student learning? Observable practice? Reflection and renewal?
Two part question:
1. What are the most important outcomes for an instructional coach, and 2. what are the conditions that most likely lead to these outcomes?

@jockowillink@TulsiGabbard@PeteHegseth I am confused by your position. From what I've learned about these two nominees, their actions don't seem to align with the principles you promoted in Extreme Ownership (a book I enjoyed and found helpful as a leader).

Science of reading lawsuit: MA families sue over 'fraudulent' curriculums https://t.co/KmrsxnvFLX
People are conflating reading curricula (not "curriculums", @BostonGlobe) w/ a pill students take to become readers. Many factors lead to effective reading instruction.
