Thank you so much to all of you who signed the petition yesterday - even though I'm not sure what a petition is, I know it's doing really well!
Here it is again in case you missed it yesterday -https://t.co/ZaArb285gN
Betty told me that in the old days before the internet (whatever that means) humans had to take paper petitions round to friends for them to be signed.
These days it's all done in a few seconds.
That's a good thing, isn't it?
Why the silence on this @networkrail? In the face of increasing public anger? These birds will have travelled around 14,000 miles when they return to their nesting holes - only to find them blocked up. Nature is increasingly squeezed into ever-shrinking spaces, forced to fit around our sprawling network of transport and housing and commerce. Please act NOW to rectify your thoughtless actions!

#NetworkRail will you be cruel or be kind? It is so easy to be kind in this situation - you can unblock the homes that 6 swifts are currently flying thousands of miles back to. Please do email CEO Jeremy Westlake: [email protected]#SaveOurSwifts
Please help get this message to CEO of @networkrail Jeremy Westlake. Email him asking him to unblock the swift nesting sites in the chapel Milton viaduct, Derbyshire. His email is [email protected]@deborahpitman has been asking for ages but she’s been ignored

📢 NATURE ON THE BRINK 😟🌍
This Christmas could be a nightmare for nature - the UK Government is about to roll back key environmental protections that were supposed to help wildlife thrive.

Swifts fly thousands of miles to breed in the UK—only to find their nest sites blocked up.
Their ancient forests with nest hollows now gone, they relied on cavities in buildings, but these, too, have disappeared.
To stop their steep 2/3rds decline since 1995, an inexpensive swift brick nest box was proposed to be incorporated by law into new buildings—also helping other red-listed cavity nesting bird species.
But in a vote last night, UK Labour destroyed a golden opportunity to do this small thing for one of the most nature-depleted countries in Europe.
We're saddened to hear that actress Prunella Scales has died, aged 93. Much-loved for portraying Sybil Fawlty in Fawlty Towers, Scales had a long-standing career and was nominated for a BAFTA in 1992 for playing Queen Elizabeth II in Alan Bennett’s A Question Of Attribution.
Friends! Mum says we live in a ‘Mad House’. It’s true that some days are crazier than others. Here’s a snapshot of yesterday. Baby Dog and Ron having a RUMBUSTIOUS play session, whilst the Little One plays her guitar and sings. Quite the combination! *Please give us a share today* ❤️❤️

Let’s make him viral — and give him the shot he deserves.
The world ignored him once. Don’t let it happen again.
@thegentleauthor Gillian Tindall wrote so well.
The engine, when it finally appeared, would at first seem friendly but then grief in size, becoming enormous, a dragon 20 foot high that crashed past with such a din and a fleeting blast of heat that we would cower... (The Pulse Glass)
It is with a heart full of emotion that I have to announce that my good friend the historian GILLIAN TINDALL died on Wednesday aged 86. In February, Gillian asked me to publish her final work, JOURNAL OF A MAN UNKNOWN, which comes out on 6th November. https://t.co/dGRh4YSVtL

I tried out someone else's lap yesterday. I didn't wait to be invited, I just took a chance and did it. Betty said I am getting very confident.
I'm not sure what thatword means. Is being confident a good thing?
