During our time away from normal schooling we would love all children, parents, carers and staff of @SimpsonPrimary to share details of what you’re reading, recommendations and photos of you enjoying your favourite books. Let’s set a challenge to see how many books we can read!
We are delighted to announce we are hosting a Scholastic Book Fair during our parents’ evenings on Wednesday and Thursday of this week.
This will be held discreetly in the hall to avoid putting any financial pressure on families.
Please see email for further information.
P1 had a brilliant time this week exploring their new Bookbug Family Bags as part of Book Week Scotland. They took part in paired reading and some visitors from home joined in too! @ReadSps
We were delighted to welcome the wonderful Storyteller Sarah Wedderburn-Ogilvy to @SimpsonPrimary yesterday. Sarah delivered an engaging and entertaining session for all stages across our school.

As part of World Book Day, P4A were asked to create a door display of their favourite book. The class favourite was ‘Gangsta Granny’ - everyone worked hard to creatively bring the book to life on our door!🚪👵🏼@ReadSps

P4A celebrated World Book Day through lots of active tasks. We played guess the character, charades and made our own life size characters too. This afternoon, we created a ‘balloon bouquet’ of each of our favourite books to showcase our love for reading in class🎈❤️ @ReadSps
