Script for “Tell me about yourself”: “I’ve spent the last few years working across [field/function], where most of my work has involved [skill 1], [skill 2], and helping teams [outcome]. What I’m looking for now is a role where I can use that experience to [target outcome], especially in an environment like this one where [company-specific reason].” Keep it focused, not autobiographical.
If you told me you wanted to earn more, I wouldn’t tell you to work harder.
I would tell you to make better career decisions.
For example…
If youre in an industry that doesn’t pay well, don’t be surprised when your salary grows slowly. Sometimes the fastest way to earn more is to move to an industry that pays for your skills more.
And please, stop treating interviews like an exam. They are a skill. The more you practise, the better you get.
Also, don’t put so much pressure on yourself to find your passion right now. Focus on becoming really good at something people are willing to pay for. Passion is easier to pursue when you have options.
If you’re serious, don’t just wait for someone to put you on.
Put yourself where opportunities can find you.
Tell your friends you’re job hunting. Reach out to old classmates and lecturers. Message people already working in the industry you want. Fix your CV. Create a good LinkedIn profile. Apply every single day, even when you don’t feel like it.
Also check places like LinkedIn Jobs, Jobberman, MyJobMag, Hot Nigerian Jobs, Indeed
If you have a digital skill, also check Upwork, Fiverr, Contra
And one last thing, don’t be ashamed to tell people you’re looking for work.
Many opportunities come because one person remembered your name when an opening came up.
I’ve also written several posts where I shared free resources on getting jobs, learning valuable skills, building your career, and growing professionally.
I’ll drop the links below.
Go through them one by one.
They might be exactly what you need right now.
This inverter is a great investment even tho the light got better, it can decide to go off when you’re in an important meeting and it takes about 5 minutes before Mtn router picks itself up.
Giving someone a discounted one month mentorship on GRC as I conclude a 3 months mentorship with a client. My aim this year is to earn from every skills that I have while assisting 5% for free.
At the end of my session yesterday, I was so excited about the reviews and the number of business owners who look forward to collaborate with me especially the host. Know what you know very well.
Today’s session I was approached by the cybersecurity dept head of Unilag for possible support/collaboration towards their cybersecurity department. I was so excited to find out cybersecurity is officially a course in both BSc and MSc sections of the university 🧚♀️🧚♀️🧚♀️🧚♀️
Funny thing for me is how I win people to Grc always. I absolutely love it here, my career, network, and people.

Always take a Victor’s mindset to your interviews!
Ask yourself, why am I nervous? Shouldn’t they be nervous too?
If it’s not the weight of your ambition that’s making you nervous, then leave it in the bin.
They should be nervous too, you self no small.
I’ve made it a conscious habit to block anyone who reflexively calls random women “whores.” It’s a level of needless contempt I don’t care to entertain.
If you wash up and don’t dry the area properly because you aren’t home and you have no towel with you, you’ll end up walking around in damp underwear. Candida won’t leave you and you won’t leave candida😬
