I've read a lot of facts about butterflies this week in my reading, but none as visually interesting as The Truth About Butterflies by @maxwelleatoniii! I love his illustrations and fun facts (along with the comedic one-liners from the cat.)
Star even gives us ideas for ways we can help prevent so much devastating deforestation. Thank you @Remy_Lai for growing awareness with your wonderful book!
The true story of Star The Elephant by @Remy_Lai will tug at your heartstrings. This is my favorite picture - of Star's reunion with her family at the Endau-Rompin National Park in Malaysia.
Did you know that elephants can swim long distances? I had no idea! In order to flee their desecrated forest, Star and her family swam over one mile across the Johor Strait to reach Singapore! #starthelephant
@AnnettePimentel All the Way to the Top is a beautiful book that shows the story of @jkclegacy and her participation in the Capitol Crawl and the passing of the ADA! I am reveling in the knowledge I've gained.
I read All the Way to the Top by @Annettepimentel this week. Truly an eye-opener for me! I'm ashamed to admit that I did not realize it was March of 1990 before the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was passed!
Not to mention, some really cool ladies I've never heard of like Kate Warne (first female detective in the country!) and Maria Tallchief (first Native American woman to become a prima ballerina). Put it on your TBR list!
You think you know someone...then you read Noise Makers: 25 Women Who Raised Their Voices & Changed the Word from @Kazoomagazine
@ErinBried and you learn SO MUCH MORE!
